The SMX Global Open-Source Threat Network Disruption Cell ("GOST Cell") utilizes publicly available information (PAI), non-traditional intelligence gathering and exploitation methods to provide our customers with insight to counter counterdrug (CD) and counter trans-national organized crime (CTOC). The GOST Cell utilizes commercial subscriptions, social media, financial transactions, and open-sourced data to identify, disrupt, and interdict trans-national threat networks responsible for illicit drug trafficking, illicit financial flows, and the illicit trafficking of people, wildlife, natural resources, and weapons.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the collection, analysis, and evaluation of geo-fused products and services
- Strong quantitative and analytic abilities to integrate and analyze data, solve problems, and effectively communicate results to senior leaders and decision makers
- Study, evaluate, and report on all-source data, to include spatial data
- Utilize available industry data, including market data available for purchase, outside reports, and other data provided by the requested agency, to identify threat networks
- Fuse multidiscipline sources to provide accurate and timely geospatial analysis
- Provide analysis and assessments of commercially available and open-source data to deliver actionable information products
- Apply expertise in operations, intelligence, qualitative and quantitative analysis, and collections to enhance the client mission
- Succinctly incorporate measures of quality assurance and quality control prior to release of intelligence reporting
Required Skills
- Demonstrated ability to operate in a team environment in researching multi-faceted or critical problems
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently in performing research, data fusion, and analysis of multi-discipline datasets
- Knowledge of internet-based research, including Boolean logic, search engine and database resources, and internet sources, including social media, social networking tools, data exploitation, and commercial- and industry-based databases
- Ability to acquire, display, and analyze spatio-temporal data
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills and tradecraft standards to deliver analytic findings in textual form, graphic annotation, or other formats as directed by the government customer, and develop and present briefings to support customer requirements
Required Experience
- 3-5 years relevant experience
- Experience with advanced search techniques, information databases, data visualization, and related tools.
- Experience converting data collected from multiple sources to provide geospatial analysis.
- Experience utilizing commercially available unclassified analysis toolsets, including but not limited to: Analyst's Notebook, ArcMap/ArcPro, Google Earth
- Knowledge of other intelligence disciplines, including signals intelligence (SIGINT), human intelligence (HUMINT), Measurement and Signature Intelligence (MASINT), Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT)
- Experience with publicly available information (PAI) analytic principals
