Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for a Administrative Support Specialist opportunity for our customer in Carlsbad, NM to support the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) and other nationwide DOE and commercial projects. This position will support the site Security organization as a Security Access Badge Specialist.

Work Location: On-Site at WIPP
Per diem is available for those who qualify.

The Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is the nation’s only permanent nuclear waste repository for defense-generated transuranic (TRU) waste generated from Department of Energy (DOE) sites across the country. Waste is permanently isolated over 2,000 feet underground in deep salt beds.

Position Overview:
  • This position will serve as an entry level Security Access Badge Specialist and will work at the WIPP site with the Personnel Security Team in the Badge Office.
  • Per DOE requirements, visitors, vendors, contractors, and new employees are processed for a federal issued badge
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent 2 years administrative or technical experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect federal approved identification (IDs), fill out paperwork for Local Site Specific Only (LSSO) badges, visitor (V), temporary (T), and Homeland Security Presidential Directive badges.
  • Assist with the re-badging of all LSSO badge holders to meet FY19 Security Survey Finding corrective action.
  • Assist with processing Homeland Security Presidential Directive (HSPD) -12 badging program and processing documents for sponsorship; processing individual enrollments, badge updates and activations.
  • Perform administrative duties, as needed, such as filing forms, dispositions of badges.
  • Greet visitors; inspect federal ID's; verify General Employee Training (GET) is complete/current,
  • administer GET-300.
  • Issue visitor, and vendor badges at the front security office; look up GET training report.
  • Type LSSO badge forms, take photographs and print badges using site badge equipment.
  • Update RFID database for site badge access for both LSSO and HSPD-12 badges.
  • Disposition badges (terminated, expired, defective).
  • Additional duties as requested/required.
