Job Summary
AUTeach seeks candidates for a Program Administrator position. The individual selected will coordinate administrative operations of the program, manage budget/reporting, and provide assistance to the AUTeach Co-Directors. AUTeach is a streamlined teacher preparation program at Auburn University for science majors. The goals of the AUTeach Program are to attract and retain more STEM students into teaching careers, and to graduate outstanding science teachers.
Essential Functions
- Develops, plans, and schedules for the execution of multi-task projects and initiatives related to the day-to-day management of AUTeach administration. Recommends, implements, and coordinates methods and procedures to enhance operations.
- Provides budget tracking and monitoring, payroll processing, travel/expense voucher processing, as well as other expenditure processing.
- Advises faculty, staff, and students of standard AU policies or procedures.
- Acts as point of contact for students, faculty, departments, and vendors/outside agencies.
- Provides high level administrative support to include typing, filing, proofreading, scheduling meetings, preparing reports, documents, and presentations.
- As an academic position, duties may also include but are not limited to scheduling classrooms, entering course information into AU student scheduling system (OASIS), maintaining grades/registration, conducting teaching effectiveness surveys, contacting bookstores concerning textbooks, facilitating departmental presentations, and administrative issues related to student academic or financial status.

Level I: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, management, or related degree with no experience.
Level II: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, management, or related degree plus 2 years experience in project or program administration.
Level III : Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, management, or related degree plus 4 years experience in project or program administration.
Substitutions allowed for Education:
When a candidate has the required experience, but lacks the required education, they may normally apply additional relevant experience toward the education requirement, at a rate of two (2) years relevant experience per year of required education.

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Highly skilled in the management, organization and prioritizing of tasks.
- Ability to learn new software and computer programs. Professionalism in critical situations.
- General office equipment (printers, scanners, etc), Microsoft or Apple computers, Microsoft Office Suite (concentration on Word, Excel and Outlook), phone systems
