Do you enjoy engaging with children? Are you passionate about sports? Do you like to have fun while working? Join our YMCA as a member of our part-time Youth Sports Staff!

This is a part-time position, 5-15 hrs/wk, for $10/hr. Shifts will be in the evenings and Saturdays. This is the ideal position for a high school or college student! Staff to work with sports throughout the season.

Essential Functions:
1. Teach sport specific skills, character development and teamwork.
2. Enforce safety rules, policies and guidelines.
3. Adhere to work schedule and substitute for other staff when needed.
4. Perform setup/tear down of equipment/area as needed.
5. Perform equipment checks and ensure appropriate equipment is available as needed.
6. Maintain a safe, clean, environment.
7. Report all equipment damage and/or malfunction to supervisor.
8. Follow emergency procedures and safety precautions. Follow procedures for reporting all accidents, incidents and hazards.
9. Adhere to all policies, rules, and regulations as outlined in employee handbook and other communications. Obtain and maintain required training(s).
10. Accept additional assignments as deemed appropriate, within the scope of the job description.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of high school required; minimum age 16.
• Current First Aid and CPR-PR/AED required (the Y will train.)
• Previous experience with sports is preferred.
• Previous experience supervising children preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Physical ability and stamina to perform the duties as outlined above, including but not limited to extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking; bending, stooping, reaching, lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds.
• Ability to use a variety of sports and general cleaning equipment.
