Position: Membership Director Salary: $52,000.00 - $58,000.00

About the Job

The YMCA Fairfax County Reston is looking for an experience and dynamic professional to joining the team as the Membership Director. This position provides leadership to Y team members, creates meaningful, high quality experiences by welcoming individuals, families and corporations, and ensures successful membership operations of the branch.

The Membership Directors at the YMCA play a key role in support of this work by leading the membership team in:

  • Directing the daily operation and ongoing administration of the Member Service Department and key branch initiatives.
  • Leading and developing the Member Service team en route to achieving the branch’s monthly member acquisition and retention goals
  • Providing outstanding customer service to all members, guests, staff, and the community at-large
  • Welcoming individuals, families and groups to become new YMCA members
  • Engaging new members in their opportunity to support the YMCA’s impactful programs and services, as a donor or volunteer, to strengthen the local community
  • Planning and management of events for prospects, members & guests (i.e. Open House) in partnership with fellow Service Team leaders (Wellness, Camp, Aquatics, etc.)
Qualifications & Skills:
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of relevant membership, sales and service experience.
  • Experience implementing effective internal and external marketing plans.
  • Supervision and staff development experience. Developing the skills of membership department team members, positioning each one for their next advancement opportunity within the YMCA movement.
Working Conditions:
  • Ability to work weekends and evenings for branch and corporate functions
  • Ability to work extended hours to meet deadlines
