Williston Area Operations Supervisor (Roustabout and Trucking)

Job Summary: (This position will be located in our Williston, North Dakota location)
This position is responsible for managing and leading the roustabout and trucking division in the performance of various oilfield services, including new well construction, maintenance, and other roustabout work. Coordinating truck drivers and equipment for incoming trucking jobs. Managing a variety of equipment that may include (but may not be limited to) tractors, trucks, trailers, and maintenance equipment. Provides hands-on supervision and guidance to roustabout crew pushers and laborers to ensure the efficient operation of all jobs. Responsible for managing and approving employee time, tickets, and time off in our systems. Manages employee scheduling and the dispatching of jobs for Roustabout and trucking services.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Manages the daily workflow of multiple crews and laborers.
- Manages and approves field tickets in ticketing software.
- Manages and approves crew time and time off requests.
- Manage crew schedules according to job demands.
- Work with the finance department on purchase orders, equipment repair costs, etc.
- Works with other Managers and Supervisors to dispatch multiple crews for assigned area and assist other Supervisors when there is overflow work needed to be covered.
- Partner with Sales to obtain and manage new/existing customer relationships.
- Partner with Safety and HR to build and train crews.
- Partner with Safety, DOT, and HR to ensure company processes, policies and guidelines are understood and followed by all crew members.
- Work with Management on Customer quotes and job bids.
- Complete job reviews and disciplinary actions when necessary.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provides ongoing training, supervision, and development for Roustabouts, ensuring that the crew performs their job in the most efficient and productive manner possible.
- Work with crews to secure and safely transport equipment needed for the job, according to company policy and DOT regulations.
- Responsible for ensuring crews have all required safety and work equipment necessary, as well as making sure all equipment and PPE is inspected and regularly cleaned or maintained for proper function and safe use.
- Responsible for making sure crews properly complete and submit Field Tickets or other documents showing work time for the crew.
- Communicate effectively and regularly with teams regarding jobs, hazards, needs, employees, etc.
- Comply with all company and location Safety/DOT policies to work safely in a potentially hazardous environment.
- Visual acuity, hearing, speaking, reading, and writing must be adequate to perform all required tasks in a safe manner.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Manage and supervise activities of crews to ensure employee skill development and
- Ability to effectively lead and manage people, jobs, and crews.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment, ensuring that it is functioning and operating
- Capable and resourceful in lining up equipment for consecutive jobs requested by the
- Ensuring quality products and services are provided to the
- Knowledge of equipment and tools commonly used in the oil gas
- Basic math knowledge used in common
- Must be professional and motivated to complete all tasks
- Possess the ability to work independently with minimal
- Must possess the ability to safely operate all vehicles and equipment when necessary.
- Must have working knowledge and the ability to use computers and software such as Microsoft Office, email, timekeeping programs, invoicing, etc.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to be able to effectively communicate with other employees, managers, and all other relevant third parties involved with the jobs This includes (but may not be limited to) typing, speaking, reading, writing, and hearing.
Education and Experience:
Basic:
- High School Diploma or
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar operations supervisor/manager position in the oil and gas industry.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience managing/leading Roustabout crews.
- Trucking and logistics coordinating experience.
- Experience using and working in Ticketing, time approval and other applicable software and systems.
- Must have a clean driving record and valid driver’s
- Must pass a drug screen, MVR check, and background check pursuant to local, state, and federal rules.
Preferred:
- 3-5 years’ experience managing roustabout and trucking crews.
- Class A restricted CDL
- Technical degree or related certifications
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job (but are not limited to). The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, or crouch for extended periods of time, unassisted. The incumbent must wear a respirator when required. Manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination sufficient to operate industrial machinery is required. This job also requires full range of body motion to include handling and lifting. The incumbent must repeatedly lift and/or move up to 65 (SIXTY-FIVE) pounds unassisted. Visual acuity, hearing, speaking, reading, and writing must be adequate to perform all required tasks in a safe manner.
Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Work is usually done outdoors and sometimes at a client facility or job site and is frequently performed in inclement and/or extreme weather conditions. The incumbent is exposed to electricity, moving mechanical parts, vehicles, equipment, and hazardous materials. This position regularly requires long work hours and frequent weekend work.
