WASTE REDUCTION COORDINATOR
HIRING RANGE: $5,574.00 - $6,247.00 MONTHLY

About the Position:
Perform a variety of independently assigned tasks, to support and coordinate duties for waste reduction program and efforts; interact with customers, vendors, and the public on participation requirements and a variety of recycling topics; create and update a wide variety of content to include promotional materials, formal correspondence, technical documents, and educational and public relation publications; develop, execute, and manage programs, services and special events related to recycling; facilitate presentations to community groups, residents and businesses.

About the Recycling Division:

The City of Grand Junction Recycling Division provides collection of recyclable material to residential customers within the city limits and also operates a manned drop off open to the public six days a week. Duties

What You'll Do:
  • Work with institutional and other clients in the development of waste reduction programs.
  • Create and update a wide variety of content to include promotional materials, formal correspondence, technical documents, and educational and public relation publications.
  • Provide documents and media updates to the communications department.
  • Provide information required for grants, loans, and other local, state, and federal funding opportunities.
  • Perform other duties of a similar nature or level.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For:
  • Two (2) years of increasingly responsible recycling and waste reduction experience, administrative support, and/or customer service experience.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Colorado driver’s license.
  • Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
