REI is looking for a 1st Shift Warehouse Supervisor with strong leadership and warehouse experience to supervise the warehouse operations at our facility in Buford, GA, a 24/7 operation. In this fast-paced environment, the Warehouse Supervisor will oversee the daily work activities of warehouse operators by coordinating and prioritizing activities for the efficient flow of materials and products through the manufacturing process. The work hours are from 6:00 am - 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday, including some weekends.
Job Responsibilities:
- Model the “safety first” behaviors we expect of all employees by ensuring that operational procedures and processes are performed safely and provide a safe work environment and support 5S activities.
- Supervise warehouse operator's daily work activities and work performance, providing coaching, training, and counseling as appropriate.
- Review and plan work schedule for staff & assign job duties based on work schedule, including Saturday and Sunday, to meet warehouse goals while maintaining SEQCD standards.
- Create metric reports on staff performance with training programs, including cross-training schedules.
- Coordinate and monitor the flow of materials and finished goods in and out of the warehouse. Administer daily inventory transaction management with report documentation.
- Confirm completion of daily material movement, shipping, and receiving plans and schedules. Stock -in management regarding product staging and storing.
- Monitor finished product packaging.
- Maintain picking, shipping, and receiving records and other related files.
- Supervise physical inventory counts and inventory reconciliation processes.
- Submit work orders for warehouse and equipment maintenance or repair.
- Supervise or participate in activities to support Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) and CT-PATZ.
- May coordinate the pickup and disposal of hazardous waste materials and/or recycling.
- Prepare periodic inventory status reports, and correct negative inventory quantities and discrepancies.
- Prepare periodic warehouse operator performance reports to identify gaps in daily inventory transactions via scanning material to AS400 systems.
Experience
Required
- 2 year(s): Requires at least 2 years of supervisory experience in a shipping/warehouse function within a manufacturing environment.
- Requires forklift truck experience with a license or ability to pass REI’s certification upon hire. A forklift trainer license is a plus.
- Intermediate skills in MS Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint, to create management reports and compile data into charts and graphs.
- Strong problem-solving skills in resolving material control, storage, and quality problems.
- Data analysis skills and inventory management skills plus.
- Knowledge of order and inventory management systems required and preferred experience using the AS400 system. Experience with FMS, WMS, RIPICS, Oracle, ASRS, RINKS, and/or International shipping systems preferred.
- Good leadership skills are required, with the ability to foster a team-oriented department.
- Paper roll clamp, aisle master lift, and Combi lift experience are a plus.
- Hand-held scanning devices and other material handling devices experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma or Kaizen plus.
