ROLE SUMMARY
Under the direction of the DTC Lead or Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for picking, packing, and shipping products for our Direct-to-Consumer customers and support small parcel shipments for General Pet and Hills Pet Nutrition. This position will require individuals to unload packages off the packing line and stack them on pallets and assist with loading trucks. This position will require individuals to work in multiple shipping software applications, including UPS, FedEx, and other customer software applications. Provide support as needed to other areas within the facility, including order picking, replenishment, receiving, inventory, and cleaning.
MEASURES OF SUCCESS
- Pick, pack and prepare all UPS and FedEx orders for shipment daily and transfer packages to loading dock for pickup.
- Prepare UPS and FedEx shipping manifests.
- Prepare all UPS and FedEx paperwork and file accordingly.
- Prepare UPS, fedEx call tags, and return authorizations.
- Complete weekly computer backup of UPS and FedEx shipping log.
- Track packages, as necessary.
- Operation of walk rider, pallet jack, electric pallet jack, cart and/or forklift to select orders and move product in a safe manner and in compliance with company policies
- Select food and/or accessory products to fill customer order and place on cart or pallet.
- Take completed order/pallet to staging area
- Maintain cleanliness/safety of warehouse
- Recharge batteries for all electrical material handling equipment
- Provide a high level of customer satisfaction with clean, accurate, and damage-free orders
- Regular attendance
- Responsible for following AIB and GDP requirements while performing daily operational functions/duties.
- Assist in other departments as needed
IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES
- Excellent attention to detail and focus is necessary to ensure accuracy and quality. Position requires an order accuracy rate of 97% or higher.
- Able to safely operate and become certified in the operation of all warehouse equipment, including forklifts, walk-riders, electric pallet jacks, shrink-wrap machines and pallet jacks.
- Must be comfortable working with multiple computer software applications, including use of UPS and FedEx shipping software.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Able to communicate safety issues or concerns to supervisor.
- Able to abide by all company policies and procedures.
- Able to read, write and speak English.
- Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
- Able to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
- Flexible to changing customer or operational demands and able to work overtime on short notice. Position requires working until the job is complete.
- Must be organized, cooperative and a team player
- Previous warehouse experience, preferably in a fast-paced distribution environment.
- Previous forklift certification is a plus.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Lifting up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Standing/walking for duration of shift.
- Temperature varies based on weather conditions.
- Warehouse environment is not 100% dust-free.
- Use of warehouse equipment including pallet-jacks, walk-riders, forklifts, etc.
- We work until the job is complete. Full-time employees are expected to work necessary overtime as required
