Job brief
The Warehouse Clerk helps to oversee the shipping/receiving process. The clerk must ensure that all materials & supplies arrive/depart in good condition.
A clerk’s responsibilities include lifting, organizing keeping the warehouse area in a clean and orderly state at all times (within USDA compliance regulations).
Ultimately, they will work with others to help move products, load trucks and document all deliveries upon receiving.
Warehouse Clerk responsibilities include:
- Receiving products and checking them for damage
- Notifying manager/buyer of any damaged products or shortages
- Recording all received items in the computer system
- Pick and pack orders
- Load and potentially wrap skids for shipping
- Label items around the warehouse
- Inventory control of the warehouse
- Keep the warehouse clean
Requirements and skills
- Proven work experience in production or similar role
- Prior experience working in a warehouse setting
- Attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills
- Great communication
- Ability to operate forklifts and other heavy machinery
Qualifications & Experience
· Two years+ experience working in a warehouse
· High School Diploma or GED preferred
· Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
· Experience driving a fork lift is required
Work Environment
· Must be able to stand, walk, kneel and bend for virtually entire shift.
· Occasionally required to balance or climb.
· Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
· Must be willing to work in a cold and wet environment.
