WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:
Operational Efficiencies: Collaborates with other staff to identify opportunities to create operational efficiencies. Identifies and implements initiatives to enhance the patient experience. Develops, administers and communicates practices and procedures that are consistent with hospital policies and strategies.
Quality Care & Metrics: Advocates for the best quality of patient care; ensures Franciscan Alliance quality metrics are achieved.
Patient Care Advocate: Advocates for the best quality of patient care and ensures the facility quality metrics are achieved.
Financial Management & Oversight: Directs the preparation of the annual budget for the respective division. Manages budgets and costs through the responsible use of planning and control systems, which include taking into consideration forecast levels of operations, cost-effective utilization of resources and realistic financial variances. Monitors overall financial performance of division and assigns accountability for budget management to direct reports as appropriate.
Business Opportunity Development: Evaluates and makes recommendations for business development. Partners with internal leadership to formulate initiatives and business opportunities that address the developing needs of the community, changing trends in healthcare, and helping advance the facility's mission, goals, and vision. Oversees the implementation of all expansion projects and service lines.
Excellence Mindset: Facilitates and reinforces, through business processes and performance measures, a mindset for excellence in order to reduce unnecessary variations, improve clinical outcomes and reduce costs.
Quality Improvement Project Sponsor: Initiates and sponsors the development and implementation of quality improvement projects that enhance application and systems cost efficiency, coworker productivity and service those we are privileged to serve.
Stakeholder Relationship Management: Meets with the members of the community, physician leaders, healthcare organizations or federal/state/region officials on matters of mutual concern and to address community needs. Promotes a better understanding of the facility's programs and services and identifies opportunities for partnerships.
Planning Process Implementation Oversight: Oversees implementation of the facility's planning process consistent with established guidelines for both long-range and operational planning. Formulates statements of goals and objectives of Franciscan Alliance. Recommends facility long-range and operating plans for adoption.
Corporate Initiatives Participation: Participates in the development and monitoring of corporate initiatives by working with executive staff members at each facility.
Financial Leadership: Provides leadership and strategic oversight for key operational areas including Surgery, Heart and Vascular Institute, Comprehensive Cancer Institute, Radiology/Imaging, Occupational Health, Rehab Services, Recovery Center and Franciscan Fitness Center.
Coworker Engagement: Serves as a champion for coworker engagement and developing a high performing organization. Provides input on organization-wide talent management initiatives, oversees division-specific strategic human resources plan, and participates in the selection of critical positions.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Master's Degree
10+ years Progressively increasing healthcare organization leadership experience Required
