The Opportunity
Do you have what it takes to shape our quickly growing engineering organization by working directly with the CTO to set it up for scale?
As our VP Engineering, your mission is to grow our high-profile, high-impact engineering organization together with our CTO. With the heads of our four software engineering and IT departments, you will design and architect solutions to technically complex problems, guide the transition to become SaaS only, shape our cross-functional development team topology, ensure alignment and focus across our teams and shape our products.

Engineering and Product Managers partner to understand and solve our customers' problems. Alignment and Focus across the company is achieved via OKRs. You will build the future of NavVis together with the Managing Directors and founders.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in a fast-growing and high-scale tech company distributed across the US, Europe, and China. You'll be taking our products to the next level within a high talent density team and out-of-the-box thinking. Having raised 85 million up to now; you’ll be working with a team that is scaling globally, fast.
How you will make an impact
- Act as the driving force behind engineering, technology, and product operations within the company
- Lead experienced engineering department heads that cover a broad tech stack and be responsible for mentoring and developing them to create a culture that encourages support and independence
- Collaborate closely with the product managers in defining roadmaps that align with the quarterly OKRs around company goals that you will drive
- Continuously work towards improving team efficiency and engineering capacity by improving the flow and addressing technical debt in our products and processes
- Play a key role in recruiting top engineering talent
- Be the go-to person and sparring partner for critical system design and architectural decisions (with a focus on Cloud and SaaS products)
- Contribute to overall company product and business strategy as a key member of the leadership team
What will help you succeed in the role
- You are a strong motivator, leader, team player with a record of leading and mentoring employees
- You bring about 7+ years of experience as a technology leader with a proven track record of leading Engineering teams
- Significant strategic experience growing and managing multiple cross-functional engineering teams (including software engineers, architects, quality assurance, product operations and infrastructure)
- "Roll-up-your-sleeves" entrepreneurial, Start-Up attitude
- Mentality of "empowerment & trust"
- Pragmatic approach that allows the team(s) to iterate fast towards world-class results (vs drown in perfection)
- The ability to attract, hire, and coach world-class engineers
- Business fluency in written & spoken English, German is a plus
Tech Background
- Proven track record with 7+ years of software engineering experience in larger projects, preferably (B2B) SaaS products
- Profound knowledge in parts of our tech stack (ideally TypeScript, Java, C++)
- Experience in cloud-based software architecture (ideally AWS)
- Excited to be solving and aligning technical & architectural problems with the engineering org
- Deep curiosity and knowledge of technical trends in the industry as well as competitors
- Your are an Advocate of Agile, Scrum, and DevOps methodologies and principles
