The Company
Sanofi is a global diversified healthcare company committed to improving access to healthcare and supporting people throughout the continuum of care. As one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies worldwide, Sanofi provides healthcare solutions in more than 170 countries worldwide, with 73 manufacturing sites in 33 countries. From prevention to treatment, Sanofi transforms scientific innovation into healthcare solutions, in human vaccines, rare diseases, multiple sclerosis, oncology, immunology, infectious diseases, diabetes and cardiovascular solutions and consumer healthcare. More than 100,000 people at Sanofi are dedicated to make a difference on patients’ daily life, wherever they live, and enable them to enjoy a healthier life.
In 2019, Sanofi unveiled a new strategic framework to drive growth and unleash fresh inspiration across the business. Known as “Play to Win”, the strategy is based on the following four key priorities:
- Focus on Growth – Sanofi’s portfolio focuses on three primary growth drivers, namely: (i) Dupixent is a transformative medicine with significant potential for treatment of type 2 inflammatory diseases such as moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis, asthma, and chronic sinusitis with nasal polyps; (ii) Vaccines are expected to deliver growth through a wide portfolio of products, market expansion and launches; and (iii) R&D efforts have identified six potentially transformative therapies with expected submission dates in 2021.
- Lead with Innovation – Sanofi has prioritized six potentially practice-changing therapies in its pipeline for large numbers of patients in need of life changing treatments, including: (i) Fitusiran, (ii) BIVV001, (iii) Venglustat, (iv) SERD (‘859), (v) Nirsevimab, and (vi) BTKi (‘168).
- Accelerate Efficiency – As means of funding growth opportunities, Sanofi expects to generate significant savings; the savings are expected to result primarily from limiting spending on de-prioritized businesses, implementing smart spending initiatives in procurement, and driving operational excellence in manufacturing and organizational productivity.
- Reinvent How we Work – Beginning in 2020, the company has structured itself along three global business units, including (i) Specialty Care, (ii) Vaccines, and (iii) General Medicines. Each business unit will be responsible for worldwide regions and include the contribution from sales for its products in emerging markets. Consumer Healthcare will operate as a standalone business unit, with integrated R&D, manufacturing, IT and support functions deemed critical to enhancing speed and agility to maintain competitiveness.
Sanofi is an equal opportunity employer that embraces diversity to foster positive, innovative thinking that will benefit people worldwide.
