Overview:

Summary:


The Associate’s role is to assist in the analysis and execution of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and other strategic projects within AmTrust’s Corporate Development, Mergers & Acquisitions team. The Associate will directly report to the head of the group, and will assist him across projects.


The Mergers and Acquisitions team reports to the President of the Company and is therefore involved in various strategic initiatives to fuel growth and enhance Company’s position in the market. The team acts as the Company’s central point of coordination for all global M&A activities and is responsible for managing due diligence processes, developing valuation models and financial analyses, and preparing materials for senior management and other Company stakeholders.


In addition to M&A, the team works with the Alternative Investment team in the evaluation of private equity, private credit, and other alternative investment opportunities.

  • Play a key role in all aspects of AmTrust’s mergers and acquisitions and strategic investments / initiatives processes
  • Develop and maintain financial models for evaluating acquisition, divestiture and investment opportunities including detailed P&L, cash flow and balance sheet forecast, synergies analysis, valuation analysis and additional ad-hoc analysis associated with M&A and divestiture activities
  • Create detailed presentations and reports that can be utilized by C-level management including M&A pipeline, due diligence results, deal theses and information memorandums
  • Develop a deep understanding of AmTrust’s financial and operational profile and help identify opportunities for strategic development across all aspects of the company
  • Maximize collaboration and efficiency of the M&A process by building relationships and processes with key operating departments globally including finance, information technology, claims, human resources, and legal among others
  • Assist in planning and coordination of integration of acquisitions and carve-outs of divestitures
  • Assist in driving transaction process by managing due diligence requests, maintaining data rooms, and coordinating with external advisors

Required:

  • High level financial modeling capabilities
  • Proficient in drafting management presentations, information memorandums and board materials
  • Knowledge and experience in the financial and process-oriented aspects of M&A transactions
  • 1-3 years of quality experience in a M&A / due diligence or transaction advisory role at a reputable firm
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex issues efficiently and accurately to senior executives both verbally and in writing
  • Willingness to work with a high-energy, hard-working, and high-performing team


Preferred:

  • Understanding of the insurance industry with a specific focus on P&C is a PLUS but not required

Compensation
The salary range for this role is $100,000- $130,000. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in our Maiden Lane, NYC office. Base pay offered may vary depending on, but not limited to education, experience, skills, geographic location, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics. This range may be modified in the future.
