Compensation: $75,000- $95,000 per year. Estimated annual pay for new hires generally ranges between $85,000 and $100,000 or more, depending on experience, education level, and annual bonuses.

Shift: 1st Shift - 6am-4:30pm Mon-Fri with Alternate Sat

Summary:

MSI has plans to significantly increase the size of our private fleet. We are looking for a Corporate Transportation Manager that will use and monitor data to enhance performance and stabilize compliance with State and Federal requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage multi-site activities including performance, safety, compliance in accordance with MSI goals and DOT regulations
  • Manage a team with over 700 assets, 200 drivers, and over 35 locations across the US
  • Assist with vehicle procurement and equipment specifications; assist with innovative ideas for equipment types and modifications based on customer needs
  • Maintain, manage, and audit vendor relationships including Billing and Performance
  • Ensure all compliance measurements are met, provide reporting and guidance on ways to improve (CSA Score, Accidents, Injuries, Inspections, etc.)
  • Assist with Companywide hiring strategies to meet growth and limit turnover/ attrition
  • Create and Audit high-level reporting to aid in Department/ Company decision making
  • Create and implement process improvement documents or strategies
  • Provide effective feedback to local management to drive success
  • Maintain stock of all transportation devices (Geotabs & Drive Cams)
  • Experience managing Commercial Fleet Registration processes, IRP accounts, and IFTA account data and reconciliation.
  • Monitor all transportation activities to ensure FMCSA and DOT compliance for all Drivers and Vehicles (Hours of Service, GVWR, DQ Files, Medical & License Expirations, etc.).
  • Create quality reporting, analysis and audits to measure the success of implementations to aid in decision making.
  • Ensures and maintains asset maintenance records for PM compliance and timely fixes from vendors
  • Experience maintaining asset maintenance including Tractors, Flatbeds, Box Trucks, Dry Van Trailers
  • Experience leading remote or onsite transportation-related training sessions
  • Create SOP’s to aid in high performance and process improvement
  • Ability to build, schedule, and consolidate product deliveries into truckloads through the use of strategic routing software (Descartes)
  • Monitors driver’s activity throughout the day to ensure deliveries are completed, productivity and safety measures are achieved, and any and all issues are resolved before the end of the day.
  • Manages training for locations to effectively understand the process and need for updating MSI personnel with delivery details including changes, delays, delivery or pickup times/eta’s, and special handling requests
  • Manages the necessary preventive maintenance and repair compliance for all MSI Assets
  • Serves as the catalyst for maintaining customer, drivers, warehouses, sales teams, and management satisfaction levels by meeting delivery expectations without compromising safety or productivity
  • Maintains and creates a safety-driven culture for all MSI vehicles and drivers through different internal investigations and meetings to determine root causes of any transportation accidents and to improve safety procedures
  • Manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as a liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management.
  • Plans, organizes, and manages the work of subordinate staff to ensure that the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational requirements.
  • Partners with warehouse personnel, sales personnel, and other internal or external supply chain partners to achieve optimal performance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Bilingual –Spanish Preferred
  • 1+ year of equivalent work experience preferred
  • 1+ year of experience Managing CDL Drivers
  • 3+ year of experience with Transportation software (Descartes, Geotab, Lytx)
  • 1+ year of Transportation Regulations (State & Federal) experience
  • Travel up to 40% of MSI locations
  • Managing and Working in Supply Chain Environment
  • Creating or Implement Safety Programs
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Strong project management skills: ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly
  • Strong analytical skills to process information and use it to reach conclusions and support recommendations
  • Excellent oral and written English language communication skills
