Job description
As a Test Engineer, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary role that develops the concept for testing hardware and makes that a reality. You will be responsible for design, analysis, development, maintenance and fabrication of equipment necessary for testing hardware. The testing ranges from rocket engines to structural airframe components. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and self-motivated individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with excellent communication & people skills. The candidate should be an engineer with a diverse set of skills and experience in some or most of these fields: mechanical and fluid systems design, structural design and analysis, test data analysis, assembly of inert gas and cryogenic systems, generating complex CAD models, and large civil engineering projects.
What You Have
- Design, implement, and maintain test equipment and processes to support projects from R&D to Production
- Generate fluid schematics for new test stands and revise as needed
- Perform fluid system sizing based on customer requirements
- Interact in a professional manor with vendors to select and purchase components
- Develop analysis tools as needed to support designs
- Develop test procedures
- Operate test stands via graphic user interface
- Review test data to identify issues and trends
- Perform other tasks as needed to support Venus
What Will Set You Apart
- Must be able to meet ITAR requirements
- BS degree in engineering and 5-7 years of relevant experience
- Advanced Degree in related field and minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience
- In absence of a degree, 10+ years of relevant experience is required
- Acceptable engineering degree fields (mechanical, electrical, aerospace or industrial
- Minimum 5 years of experience in hardware testing environment
- Minimum 5 years of experience with CAD modeling software
- Minimum 5 years of experience with Fluid system design
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to prepare test reports, proposals and analysis
- Excellent Organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to work outside as needed to support tests and fabrication of test stands
- Must be able to work well with team and/or as a self motivated individual
