THE ROLE
The Web Producer (temporary Maternity Leave Cover) is an integral member of the Editorial team and is responsible for publishing content on Sotheby's digital platforms, ensuring that it remains fresh, engaging, and accurate. This role will also be responsible for gathering content for inclusion in email marketing campaigns.
The Producer will work closely with internal stakeholders (Art & Luxury Category Department leads) to receive, finalize, and publish content on the website with an emphasis on supporting Sotheby's ecommerce platform ("Buy Now"), in addition to auctions, selling exhibitions, and general editorial content. The Producer will coordinate with Buy Now stakeholders to ensure their products & content are promoted in Sotheby's email marketing programs.
Reporting to the AVP, Web Production, the Producer will work closely with their local Marketing & Growth teams and Producer counterparts in New York, Hong Kong and London.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage, coordinate, and upload content from key stakeholders in the company across a variety of distribution channels: sothebys.com, mobile app and email
- Content may include digital catalogs, auction series pages, auction pages, catalog notes and more
- Maintain & update product merchandising on Buy Now landing pages based on strategic needs of each Category
- Address navigational (filters, tags) issues from across different Buy Now categories
- Gather and submit Buy Now merchandising requests for placement into Sotheby's email marketing journeys
- Adhere to digital production workflows to ensure timely delivery of projects
- Adhere to Sotheby's web standards and guidelines for style, content and code
- Adhere to content testing and quality assurance procedures to ensure content is accurate before publishing
- Use creative decision making and design tools (Adobe Creative Cloud Suite) to create strong visual content
IDEAL EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES
- Bachelor's degree in communications or related field
- 2 years+ of Hands-on experience with enterprise-level content management systems and ecommerce cataloging platforms (ie Brightspot, Sitecore or Adobe AEM)
- Working knowledge of HTML/CSS
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud Suite
- Proficient with Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel (pivot tables and v-lookups)
- Familiarity with email service platforms (ie Optimizely, Adobe Campaign, Iterable or Braze)
- Familiarity with Adobe Workfront, Jira, Algolia, Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics is a plus
- Familiarity with SEO best practices is a plus
- Outstanding attention to detail, with a commitment to operational excellence
- Possesses strong time management skills with the ability to handle multiple, simultaneous priorities
- Excellent verbal and written communicator
- Verbal and written fluency in English
- Capacity to learn new systems swiftly
- Empathetic to site users' expectations, considers the human application of digital experiences
- Collaborative and able to work cross-functionally across various levels of colleagues at the firm, building appropriate rapport, using diplomacy and tactHas a positive, can-do attitude and wants to be part of a critical team
- Experience in retail/ecommerce, luxury, fashion or art industries is a plus
The expected hourly rate for this position ranges from $25/hour - $40/hour. Employees in this role may be expected to work overtime, and will receive additional pay at the applicable overtime rate. In addition to hourly wages and overtime, successful candidates will be eligible for benefits as required by law. Our offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
