Experienced HR Generalist and Benefits Administrator in the Tampa Bay Area for a Temporary Remote Position

We are seeking an enthusiastic HR Generalist to join our innovative and engaging HR Team at HealthAxis Group, LLC. We are a software development company established in 1965, providing technology and BPO solutions to the healthcare industry throughout the United States.
We are a 100% Remote workforce of passionate, technology driven team members nationwide! Our headquarters is in Tampa, FL.
Administratively supports the employees of HealthAxis. This includes daily process-related responsibilities in support of transactions in various areas, such as employment, benefits, worker’s compensation, employee development, separation, maintaining the organization’s HRIS (Paycor) and benefit vendor applications and modules, as well as training coordination, and new employee onboarding. Will assist the Organizational Development team with administrative training tasks.
What you will be doing....
  • Data entry into Paycor to include new hires, terminations, and employee changes.
  • Maintains and updates employee benefit plans – to include audit reporting
  • Ensure consistency in form, policies, and practices.
  • Prepares and distributes HR internal communications.
  • Maintain appropriate level of current knowledge related to employment process, benefits, and other related items, to direct inquiries appropriately.
  • Adhere to the Code of Conduct, HealthAxis Core Values and ensure Customer Service delivery.
  • Report pertinent information and assist with tasks to support department operations.
  • Perform other HR projects as assigned.
  • Assists with the OD Manager with training coordination and PowerPoint presentations.
Your duties and responsibilities...
  • Crosstrain with HR Generalist
  • Document procedures for all HR and Benefit-related tasks.
  • Assist in administering reminders for past-due LMS courses, quarterly assessments, and other deadline- oriented tasks.
  • Assist Managers and HR team with revisions and updates to job descriptions, forms, benefit materials, and policies, as needed.
  • Assist in follow-up with new hires for outstanding documents, such as I9, benefit enrollment, and signed attestations.
  • Assist with Welfare Plan Compliance and distribution of SBCs and SPDs to enrollees.
  • Assist with completing updates to HRIS, SharePoint Employee Portal, and Teams.
  • Post applicable W Comp, State and Federal Mandatory Posters and keep them up to date.
  • Assist with sourcing of candidates for open job requisitions, completion of professional reference checking and updates to ATS.
  • Provide basic troubleshooting for HRIS users.
  • Develop, prepare, generate, and analyze ongoing and ad-hoc special reports pertaining to employee personnel information and data, including issues such as benefits costs, staffing levels/deployment, turnover, absenteeism, recruitment, applicant tracking, EEO, compensation, promotions, etc.
  • Complete Verifications of Employment.
  • Communicate touch points at 30 & 90 days of employment.
  • Assist with communicating rejection letters to candidates.
  • Assist with collecting compensation benchmarking to ensure market competitiveness.
  • Assist in auditing employee virtual files for accuracy.
  • Assist in collecting content for employee newsletter.
  • Assist in distribution of new employee welcome kits/swag.
  • Assist in collecting requested documents for SOC-II compliance.
  • Assist with campaign for Top Workplace Awards.
  • Assist in obtaining testimonials for website and building social media presence.
  • Assist with driving the HealthAxis culture through values and customer service standards.
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships through effective and timely communication.
Experience and skills you will bring:
  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Specific course work related to Human Resource and payroll a strong plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
  • Thorough understanding of supporting a remote or virtual workforce.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of HRIS systems required.
  • Two+ years of professional human resource experience.
  • Demonstrated experience commensurate with coordination of smooth and effective daily operations.
  • Ability to adapt to quickly changing situations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Experience with Paycor, Teams, DocuSign, and SharePoint a plus.
  • Strong organizational and prioritizing skills required – must have a proven system of managing multiple
  • priorities, requiring minimal guidance and direction once trained.
  • Drive and initiative – must be innately curious, a desire to learn, be a sponge, try new things, investigate and
  • presenting a solution, rather than coming with a problem and expecting you to solve.
  • General HR knowledge and experience.
  • Prior decision-making authority relating to matters of significance.
  • Ability to keep information confidential.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification a plus.
  • Ability to demonstrate enthusiasm and passion for HealthAxis products and services.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain abreast on human resources trends and best practices.

Preferred, but not required...
  • Prior experience managing benefits – understanding of medical, dental and vision plans, including deductibles and coinsurance. Knowledge of life and disability.
  • Knowledge of leaves and disability – handling the process including ADA & FMLA dialogue, forms and documentation required, submission and tracking of disability and W/C claims, etc.
  • Creative employee engagement – event planning and preparing, creative & engaging communication campaigns
  • Compliance reporting, including but not limited to EEO-1, HIPAA, & SOC2
