Job Duties

  • Maintains AirWatch database of users and privileges; adds and deletes users; performs password resets; device wipes; and device location services.
  • Troubleshoots iPhone hardware and software.
  • Utilizes software for programming certain features into smart phones and other cellular devices.
  • Provides training and cell phone support to employees, including all field and headquarter offices.
  • Processes all Telecommunication Service Requests (TSR’s) for procurement of Department wireless devices.
  • Maintains inventory of wireless equipment and accessories.
  • Interfaces with all levels of personnel, VITA, and telecommunication vendors; and maintains an effective working relationship.
  • Works with telecommunication carriers, VITA and Property and Finance for procurement and problem resolution issues concerning wireless devices.
  • Oversees all responsibilities associated with Mifi devices.
  • Maintains the Communication Division’s Equipment inventory records and asset information.
  • Performs data research; analysis; auditing; inventory review; and monitoring.
  • Performs special assignments.
  • Performs training and education.
  • Prepares and processes Interagency Transfers (IATs) and monthly paging and cellular invoices for payment action.
  • Assists with administrative duties.
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
  • May be required to assist the Department or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of hardware, software, and operational procedures to include phone configurations, data requirements, applications, and operational needs of smartphones and other wireless devices; on troubleshooting digital communication hardware and software/devices and device set up; and of interfacing smartphones with Department applications and ensuring equipment compatibility.
  • Skill in operating computers and using Microsoft Office applications and time management.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform research, analyze and collect data, and extract needed information from reports, invoices, and other official documentation for reporting and cost analysis purposes; to process invoices monthly; to maintain accurate records using very complex databases and Microsoft Excel; to work independently, to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to analyze and compile data into reports; to manage competing multiple priorities; to follow oral and written instructions; to troubleshoot various devices concerning equipment features, programming, or connectivity; and to provide training and technical assistance for smartphones and other wireless devices.
  • High School education or GED.
  • Digital communication device set up, troubleshoot and computer maintenance experience.
  • An equivalent combination of training and experience indicating possession of the preceding knowledge, skills, and abilities may be substituted for education and experience.
