Position Summary & Responsibilities:
The Information Technology technician will complete the following tasks:
  • Troubleshoot incident tickets/answer desktop support phones/provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 end user support.
  • Provide documentation on each incident resolution and help establish formal standards and procedures to be used in supporting computer users.
  • Provide mid-level technical support for computer users by using telephone, email, instant messaging, remote services (RDP), or in person.
  • Provide mid-level technical support for computer users within DCF Enterprise by using troubleshooting technique to resolve hardware and software issues for: Printers, Laptops, PC’s, Operating Systems, MS Office, DNS, DHCP, network file services, connectivity, phones, electronic faxing, internet browsing, software installation, mobile devices, wireless access, file transfer service, and mainframe applications.
  • Deploy, install, and upgrade computer hardware and software as needed using tools provided by DCF.
  • Assist users by training them on hardware equipment and software applications.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education – General
High school diploma or equivalent
One year of experience advising and assisting computer users in a distributed computing environment. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.

Licensing & Certification:

Must maintain a valid driver's license
Special Qualifications:
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds utilizing safe lifting techniques. Any lifting over 35 pounds requires assistance.
Ability to handle large packages and equipment.
Ability to work safely with high voltage equipment
Ability to frequently travel throughout the region, as well as across the state.

Pre-employment Requirements:
Security Background Check through Kansas Bureau of Investigation (must maintain security clearance throughout employment)
