Technical Sales Manager

Princeton Infrared Technologies, Inc. (PIRT) is a small startup developing advanced short wave infrared (SWIR) imaging and detection technology. With world leading products in SWIR imaging, we are looking for individuals to lead our commercial sales. This is an immediate opportunity for an Inside Sales position reporting to the Director of Sales. This is a full-time direct hire opportunity in our Monmouth Junction office. This is a small company where we wear lots of hats. This position will be working directly with customers conducting direct sales of our commercial products as well as working with other sales and marketing people along with applications engineers.
Job Duties Include:
- Assist in forecast Sales of all commercial products
- Maintain accurate records of sales and generate as needed sales reports
- Use sales data to gain insights into customer usage and needs
- Increase sales of all our commercial products
- Work directly with clients and potential clients to design and propose imaging and detection solutions
- Develop new customers and applications
- Maintain current customer base and expand sales from that base
- Conduct product demonstrations in person and virtually to increase sales
- Maintain constant contact with current and potential customers about our products and capabilities
- Attend and organize attendance at tradeshows and other marketing events
- Supply customers with quotes and take orders for commercial products
- Assist marketing team to develop videos, demonstrations, and product literature to increase brand awareness and to increase sales.
- Assist sales representative organization in both the U.S. and overseas
- Manage export licenses for all overseas sales
- Provide feedback to engineering on customer needs for product revisions and product expansion
- Identify and provide market feedback on product solution improvements; competitive landscape and segment/application/solution opportunities in region
Job Requirements Include:
- 4 year BS Engineering or equivalent preferable in sciences or engineering
- A minimum of 5 year of work experience
- A minimum of 2 years of sales experience in technical or engineering field
- Experience in Imaging or Photonic space is preferred
- Hands-on, self-assured, customer centered professional who has a track record of developing lasting relationships in industry
- Ability to work at a high technical level
- Able to work with minimal direction and supervision and the ability to work independently taking responsibility for ones actions
- Familiarity and willingness to carry out tests and demonstration of the equipment both within the companies test facilities and on site as required by the customers
- Solution minded, willingness to continuingly learn, ability to drive business, and work with minimum supervision to achieve the defined goals
- Excellent verbal and written presentation and communication skills
- Working knowledge of computers including Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, Excel
- Travel up to 40%
