Technical Manufacturing Supervisor – Forge Shop
To provide supervisory leadership, technical support, efficient management and creative problem solving, in department related plant operations. This role will require a strong technical background to troubleshoot, diagnose and drive improvement in complex forging presses.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Operations management (production schedule, releases, deliveries, product quality assurance).
- Partnering with engineering, drive data analytics to reach peak efficiency in production scheduling and quality.
- Oversee Supervisor schedule and hourly labor group schedule.
- Develop training matrix guidelines to create clear milestones to achieve for the hourly workgroup.
- Drive 6s program initiative within the forge and mult prep areas.
- Develop a deep and thorough knowledge of the press operation, including mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical/electronic systems to be able to partner with both operations and maintenance in any and all breakdowns, FMEA analysis and upgrades.
- Directs and coordinates forging plant operations-based policies, objectives, and programs spanning manufacturing functions.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Manufacturing shop floor experience required
- B.S./ B.A (engineering discipline highly preferred) or equivalent work experience.
- Exposure to Theory of Constraints throughput and inventory management preferred
- Union experience preferred
SPECIAL SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Very strong inter-personal skills.
- Leadership ability.
- Management acumen.
- Ability to do multi tasks.
US Citizenship or Perm Residency is required due to government military contracts.
