We are looking for a talented Technical Executive Director to join our team specializing in Engineering Leadership for our Eaton Cummins Automated Transmission Technologies in Galesburg, MI.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Collecting and driving customer requirements into product development and enforcing technical requirements to the customer.
• Driving market specific product quality including installation quality.
• Championing the Technical OEM Steering Committees, managing OEM quality and service channel.
• This executive leadership position leads a large scope technical organization very often including technical operations of an entire business unit or a major subdivision of a business unit or corporate area.
• Innovates with a vision and passion that inspires and develops the people within the organization to achieve technology and product excellence and prepares future leadership.
• Builds and maintains strong relationships with key customer leadership, supplier partners and other critical internal and external to Cummins leadership stakeholders.
• Ensures the overall technical operations (facilities, equipment and people) of ECJV are aligned and utilized to meet customer expectations, business strategy and leadership expectations with safety, capability and capacity all monitored, planned and executed to meet expected demand.
• Sponsors major Value Package Introduction (VPI) and other key business change initiatives across a business unit or corporate technical area.
• Develops technical talent and coaches and mentors’ future technical leaders across an entire business unit or corporate area.
• Anticipates, recognizes, facilitates and coordinates the resolution of cross-functional challenges that have greatest impact on business improvement.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Transmission and Powertrain knowledge strongly desired.
• Engineering design and launch experience.
• Product Safety - evaluation of issues, recall experience, partnership with legal, etc.
• Intellectual Property management, product strategy development and Advanced Technology concept work and business case evaluation.
• Customer interfacing
• Demonstrated exemplary leadership as an Engineering Director through a range of varying business scenarios and/or life cycles.
• Advanced level proficiency in many of the enterprise and technical competencies with a solid track record of product or technology leadership, change management, cross functional problem and conflict resolution, developing people and leading large organizational teams.

Education/Experience

• College, university, or equivalent bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines is required.

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
