Sap House Meadery is seeking a full-time manager for its Tasting Room & Pub in Center Ossipee, NH.

Tasting Room Manager Job Description

The primary roles of the TRM are:

To manage the day-to-day operations of the Tasting Room and Pub both front of house and back of house.

To continually strive to improve the experience of everyone who visits the Meadery.

To develop and implement new and creative ways to bring new customers in the door and generate marketing and earned media opportunities relating to the tasting room.

Specific Duties

• Tasting Room Management
• Manages/trains all tasting room/pub employees according to SHM’s Tasting Room Procedures and Checklists
• Is responsible for ordering and inventory management.
• Continuously stocks shelves, replenishes tasting, food, beer, and cocktail stocks and generally keeps the space organized functionally and aesthetically.
• Adheres to the cleaning procedures strictly. Is responsible for and checks the cleanliness and organization of the entire property.
• Deals with customers, giving tastings, conducting tours, taking orders, preparing food, drinks, etc. and manages employees to do the same according to the TRM procedures.
• Must accumulate, keep and communicate information about mead, Sap House Meadery and its products.
• Communicates feedback and sales information to other management team members. Provides input and insight into but not limited to new products, marketing plans, and events.
• Events, Marketing, and Innovation
• The position, along with other management team members, is responsible for developing and executing new and continuing events.
• Promoting the events via social media and within the meadery as well as email lists will be required.
• Be on the lookout for new products, methods, ideas and recipes for the Tasting Room that could lead to increased sales or exposure and fit with the brand.
• Position may additionally be required to staff events in the market.
• Sales Support
• Assist the NHWS team by taking orders via the phone/voicemail.
• Keeping awareness of new potential accounts opening, feedback and always understanding that the position represents Sap House Meadery when out in public.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Mead/Wine/Craft Beer/Spirits and/or Food Service related experience helpful.

Knowledge of mead and mead production helpful.

Commitment to excellence and high standards.

Proficient on the computer (familiar with POS systems, productivity software)

Excellent oral communication skills.

Excellent presentation skills.

Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Ability to manage priorities and workflow.

A tendency toward creating and improving systems.

Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.

A valid drivers’ license and an acceptable driving record or the ability to transport yourself to and from various work locations.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be at least 21 years of age

Must be able to bend, squat, climb, push, stoop and crouch repeatedly

Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods as required by job duties

Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs on a regular basis

Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously

This is a seasonally full-time position with benefits and retail discounts.

Tasting Room Manager receives an hourly wage based on experience, plus a portion of pooled tips.
