POSITION SUMMARY

This position is for a full-time Talent Acquisition Specialist within the Administrative Service Group at Spicer Group. This position is available from any Michigan location offered by Spicer Group, including: Saginaw, St. Johns, East Lansing, Dundee, Manistee, Byron Center, Traverse City, Bingham Farms, or Standish.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Schedule, coordinate, and attend College Career Fairs, High School Panels and other relevant events for Spicer Group appearance and candidate solicitation.
  • Maintain Career Fair inventory: spreadsheet tracking, ordering, organization, up-keep on stock supplies. Complete related paperwork for events and costs for employee attendance.
  • Gather annual Affirmative Action Plan data from job postings, interviews, resumes and other recruitment activity for government reporting.
  • Liaise with internal service groups to determine recruitment needs. Determine sourcing strategies, selection criteria, hiring profiles, marketing, HR, and IT involvement, and job requirements for vacant positions.
  • Post and maintain positions on necessary job boards. Partner with hiring managers to create job descriptions and interview questions that reflect the requirements for each position.
  • Coordinate and schedule job shadows upon request.
  • Actively partner with hiring managers to build a diverse and qualified team to support the organization through equitable job posting language and avoiding bias in candidate solicitation, advertisement, phone screening, interviewing, and selection.
  • Process resumes and candidate workflow according to pre-established guidelines: filter potential candidates via an online company portal or Applicant Tracking System (i.e., Deltek), recruitment sites (i.e., LinkedIn), job boards (i.e., Indeed and College Sites), social platforms (i.e., Facebook), government boards (i.e., MI Talent Bank), and College Career Fairs. Maintain reporting.
  • Provide application feedback to hiring managers regarding themes, red flags, or pre-employment concerns.
  • Evaluate applications and screen candidates via calls or emails. Facilitate pre-interview assessments or proficiency exams, conducting in-person or video call interviews as needed with shortlisted candidates.
  • Create, maintain, and distribute interview materials (i.e., preparation packets, “do not ask” questions, suggested questions, candidate assessment, etc.).
  • Prepare hiring forecasts and recruitment metrics for company strategic planning as requested.
  • Foster quality and long-term relationships with current and potential candidates, company employees, past applicants, former employees, interns/co-ops, and academic/collegiate contacts.
  • Develop hiring strategies and procedures in line with industry trends and keep hiring managers apprised of changes or guidance.
  • Maintain a close, trusting, and highly responsive relationship with recruiting colleagues, hiring managers, Human Resources, Marketing, other company staff, and external recruiting partners.
  • Respond to candidate calls and emails professionally and in a timely manner.
  • Perform other relevant duties and tasks as requested

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources management, business administration, or other relevant field of study preferred; or 2+ years of related work experience absent a higher education degree.
