Duties

  • Expert knowledge of systems engineering fields, particularly those involved in complex, high risk programs related to the development, acquisition, and sustainment of aeronautical weapon systems, subsystems, and equipment. Such fields include aerospace engineering, electronics engineering, mechanical engineering, integration engineering, etc.
  • Ability to develop, manage, control, and evaluate technical aeronautical weapon systems, subsystems, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of the Security Assistance/Security Cooperation (SA/SC) programs to include the understanding of the FMS sales process from case development, implementation, execution, to closure, in accordance with the Security Assistance Management Manual (SAMM), DoD 5105.38M.
  • Strong stakeholder management experience in coordinating and communicating across different organizations and teams including knowledge and experience in working across different disciplines, system engineer, logistics, training, testing etc.

In this position you will serve as the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Lead Systems Engineer for Switzerland, F-35 Joint Program Office (JPO), Arlington, VA. The incumbent will be a member of a multi-discipline team and will be responsible for leading and coordinating efforts related to Systems Engineering for the Switzerland Program. The incumbent will capitalize on existing JPO Systems Engineering teams and execute FMS functions and actions in parallel with the existing U.S. Service/Partner team members. The incumbent will support the Switzerland Program Manager and represent FMS interests at designated meetings with respect to Systems Engineering.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
  • Professional engineering knowledge gained through attainment of a Bachelor's degree in on of the engineering disciplines or equivalent is required. Advanced degree such as Masters or PhD are preferred.
  • In-depth, expert knowledge of the theories, principles, practices, methods, and techniques of aircrew and maintenance training systems acquisition and development.
  • Broad knowledge of weapons systems operational procedures, techniques, climatic and environmental factors that impact training system performance.
  • Knowledge of related engineering disciplines such as systems engineering, controls and displays, on-board computer systems, software development and distribution processing.
  • Knowledge of regulations, policies, and operating instructions, and procedures as they pertain to the preparation of technical documents, technical source selections, statements of work, and design and test standardization.
  • A working knowledge of capabilities of computer systems and how they may be effectively employed to assist required analytical efforts.
