Position Summary:
System Float Pool Surgical Technologist will provide support to the Puget Sound area hospitals and/or the Inland Northwest Hospitals. This person will fill a vital role taking assignments at Covington Medical Center, Auburn Medical Center, Good Samaritan Hospital, Tacoma General Hospital, Capital Medical Center and Allenmore Hospital providing coverage for leave of absences, sick calls or surges in census. In the Inland Northwest this person will support Valley and Deaconess hospitals.
The Surgical Technologist is responsible for assisting with the care and preparation of the surgical patient and the operating room under the direct supervision of an operating room RN. The Surgical Technologist has responsibility for the assembly, set-up, and use of surgical instrumentation and equipment during surgical procedures. Work situations are primarily routine but may change rapidly to an emergent or critical situation and may require both directed and independent decision-making depending on the nature of the situation.
Minimum Requirements:
National certification as a Surgical Technologist preferred
CPR certification required
