The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for the planning, scheduling and control of production, materials, and product inventory at adequate and economic levels, and for the economic and timely procurement of materials, equipment, and services for the Marshall, TX, cabinet manufacturing plant. This key employee also develops and manages supplier relationships for continuous improvement in cost, quality, and services.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage, train, provide performance feedback and assign duties of direct reports to ensure productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Manage and participate in the procurement of materials, components, and services, ensuring price value and stability, consistent quality, and on time delivery.
  • Coordinate with purchasing, production, and engineering departments to ensure adequate supply and efficient movement of materials.
  • Ensure at least 99% accuracy of cycle count program.
  • Review production schedules to ensure the availability of materials as established for each commodity in the plant.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of systems which measure, track, and analyze supplier and material effectiveness, price, and reliability.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
  • 5 years materials and/or inventory management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Fundamental knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen activities and Six Sigma processes.
  • Prior materials ERP experience (Oracle, SAP, Ariba).
  • Ability to understand and analyze financial data associated with plant operations.
  • Proficient computer skills required including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated successful ability to build positive partnerships and work collaboratively with cross-functional business teams.
  • Demonstrated successful ability to perform accurate work under the pressures of tight schedules.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • MBA.
  • Familiarity with the cabinet industry and product.
  • APICS certification.
  • Prior Oracle and/or AS400 experience.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt Certification or comparable problem solving certification.
