Job purpose
Implement, support, and/or manage Global Supplier Development strategies and performance to ensure flawless launches of new programs. Responsibilities will include leading APQP process as part of new product launches, coordinate technical reviews, and develop supplier capabilities to meet BorgWarner requirements. Responsibilities will also include conducting Supplier Quality training at the suppliers and drive performance improvements at the supplier to meet established objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Recognized expert in a particular commodity and/or process.
- Provide input in commodity strategy.
- Drive business process improvements.
- Work is more complex with difficult situations requiring investigation.
- Scope of position will include a wide range of difficult and complex problems.
- Work is assigned in terms of objectives.
- Review of work results is based on objectives at predetermined milestones.
- Lead APQP process as part of new product launches.
- Coordinate technical reviews and assessments.
- Develop supplier capabilities to meet BW requirements.
- Conduct Supplier Quality training at Suppliers.
- Drive performance improvements to the established objectives at Suppliers.
- Individual contributor.
- Coordinate cross functional technical problem resolution at Supplier.
- Scope of position will include a wide range of difficult problems.
- Follows established procedures and best practices.
What we are looking for
- 8 plus years of experience.
- Recognized process expertise.
- University Diploma in related discipline or equivalent experience.
- Ability to provide some mentoring to mid-level SDE’s.
- Strong functional and technical skills.
- Ability to travel 60% of the time.
