Duties, Responsibilities, and Position Characteristics:

• Increase utilization of the syringe exchange program and track participation for quality improvement and grant reporting purposes
• Coordinate efforts with community partners and AppHealthCare staff engaged in substance use prevention, harm reduction and treatment work
• Contribute to the completion and submission of progress reports to the NC Division of Public Health
• Participate in community collaboratives that contribute to program goals
• Increase availability and distribution of Narcan/Naloxone and other drugs that treat overdoses for first responders, overdose patients, individuals with OUD and their friends and family members, individuals at high risk of overdose, schools, community navigators and outreach workers, persons being released from jail or prison, or other members of the general public.
• Provide training and education regarding Narcan/Naloxone and other drugs that treat overdoses for first responders, overdose patients, patients taking opioids, families, schools, community support groups, and other members of the general public.
• Continue to track, as best as possible, when reported, overdoses and Narcan/Naloxone revivals.
• Provide public education relating to emergency responses to overdoses, immunity, Good Samaritan laws, and harm reduction strategies.
• Provide and expand syringe service programs and other evidence-informed programs to reduce harms associated with intravenous drug use.
• Support reliable mobile units that offer or provide referrals to harm reduction services, treatment, recovery supports, health care, or other appropriate services to persons that use opioids or persons with OUD and any co-occurring SUD/MH conditions.
• Working with other AppHealthCare programs to distribute Narcan/Naloxone, such as the Farmworker Health Program

**Candidate must currently be in some form of recovery from substance use for at least two years**

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $31,236.00 - $49,404.00 per year

• Addiction counseling: 1 year (Preferred)
