BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the direction of the Director of Purchasing, oversee and participate in the shipping, receiving, storing and issuing of District supplies, equipment and mail; maintain related records and prepare reports; prepare and maintain fixed asset inventory records of the District's supplies, materials and equipment; serve as a lead in the warehouse; train and provide work direction and guidance to assigned staff.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
Oversee and participate in the shipping, receiving, storing and issuing of District supplies, equipment and mail; assure supplies, equipment and mail is delivered in a timely manner; maintain the warehouse and surrounding areas in a clean and orderly condition. E
Oversee and participate in the receiving, unloading and inspection of shipments for damage and conformity to purchase order specifications and packing slips; contact vendors regarding shortages, damaged goods or other discrepancies; complete receiving, discrepancy and follow-up reports. E
Serve as a lead in the warehouse; train and provide work direction and guidance to assigned staff; prioritize work assignments; create and modify work schedules and routes; participate in the hiring and screening of new applicants as assigned. E
Fill, prioritize and process requisitions; pull, pack and ship items to District locations according to established procedures; drive a truck to deliver supplies and equipment as needed. E
Prepare correspondence and a variety of reports related to assigned activities such as incorrect shipments, overshipments and cancellations; process pickup and delivery documents, invoices and other transmittal paperwork; maintain log of returns to vendors; maintain accurate and auditable records. E
Prepare and maintain computerized fixed asset inventory records of the District's supplies, materials and equipment; process fixed asset items purchased by or donated to the District; assign and record District identification numbers of new fixed assets; record dates of acquisition and destinations and assure proper identification of items; tag and identify District property. E
Communicate with vendors, outside organizations and District staff to provide information and resolve issues concerning requisitions, stock on hand, back orders and shipment discrepancies, damage or storage; meet with vendors as necessary. E
Operate a variety of warehouse equipment including forklifts, postage machines, electric and hydraulic pallet lifts, electric aisle stackers, and a computer and assigned software. E
Participate in the coordination and performance of periodic and annual physical inventories; conduct physical inventories; complete stock status reports; make recommendations regarding proper storage, inventory and warehousing procedures, inventory control and improvements in warehouse efficiency. E
Deliver, move and set up furniture and equipment to various locations as assigned. E
Perform related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and two years of warehouse delivery work experience.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Valid California Class B driver's license with air brake certification.
Valid Medical Examiner's Certificate.
Valid Forklift Certification.

ABILITY TO:

Operate an electric or gas forklift truck, hydraulic pallet lift and up to 5-ton panel truck with rear lift gate in a safe manner.
