Staff Accountant Position, Boston, MA
(also have similar positions on south shore paying between 65-80k)
The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will hold responsibility over many aspects of internal reporting. In addition, you will support the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will play an active role in compliance, collaborate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This very involved position works to produce Cash Flow projections, Financial Statements, and Budgets.
Job Responsibilities:
· Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
· Be a part of various department-wide initiatives
· Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
· Manage the design and creation of balance sheet analysis and communicate reports to management
· Organize capital lease and monthly payment schedules
· Support fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
· Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
· Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed
· Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner
· Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Requirements:
· Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
· Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines
· Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
· Self-starter and strong ethical standards
· Demonstrated ability in strong analytical, quantitative and social skills
· High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
· Recent and relevant accounting experience
· Spreadsheet and database capabilities
· Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
· BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
· Knowledgeable of ERP systems
· Proficiency in journal entries
· Expertise in account reconciliation
· Comprehensive knowledge of general ledger
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
