Heritage Hunt Golf & Country Club is located minutes from interstate 66 at route 29 in Gainesville, Virginia within a pristinely manicured gated community of 750 acres. The Heritage Hunt community has been a premier home site on the Eastern Seaboard for several years and boasts a private 18-hole championship signature Arthur Hills designed golf course with six tee locations that measure 6,938 yards from the tips. The golf course is recognized as a true favorite of Northern Virginia, and was recently awarded “Best Golf Course” for the State of Virginia by Virginia Living magazine.

Heritage Hunt Golf & Country Club has been voted "Best of Wedding Venues" by the KNOT in Northern Virginia and DC! Our fall wedding season is packed with numerous weddings and banquets. Additionally, when not serving a wedding we have a full-service restaurant and bar - The Red Oak Bar and Grill that serves the community.


Heritage Hunt Golf & Country Club is searching for a creative and motivated sous chef to join our talented kitchen team. In this position, you will act as the second in command in our kitchen, following and enforcing our executive chef’s requirements and guidelines. Our ideal candidate is a creative professional who is willing to participate in creating delicious seasonal menus and meal designs.


Compensation:
$55,000+ per Year - Based on Experience

Your duties will include training new kitchen associates, responding to customer issues, and developing new menu options. You should have excellent communication skills with in-depth knowledge of several cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and processes.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Embraces ECHO Teamwork values.
  • Assists chef/executive chef as needed.
  • Monitors and maintains line plating and quality.
  • Prepares a variety of cuisine utilizing skill and creativity.
  • Assists with hiring, training and motivating, kitchen staff.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
  • Ensures all necessary reports and forms are completed daily.
  • Practices Lean Management principles as an integral part of the operation.
  • Coordinates with wait staff to ensure guest expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Establishes procedures, prepares and coordinates schedules, and expedites workflow.
  • Ensures that level of quality, portion control, and plate presentation is adhered to consistently.
  • Trains and develops kitchen staff; trains cooks/kitchen staff in the importance of consistency in preparation and presentation.
  • Skillfully utilizes hand tools or machines required, reads recipes, measures, cuts, and otherwise works on materials with great precision.
  • Prepare food items in accordance with production requirements and quality standards while maintaining a safe sanitary work environment. Responsible for helping achieve ongoing guest satisfaction and team goals.
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and safe kitchen; ensures all sanitation procedures are being followed; ensures adherence to all health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Possesses and maintains through an understanding of the industry and stays abreast of industry trends; communicates/incorporates information to assure kitchen remains current.
