Job Description
We are looking for a skilled software test engineer to join our team. As a software test engineer, you will have the opportunity to assist the engineering team develop and deliver high-quality software. You will help organize and triage software requirements, features, and bug fixes. You will write and execute test plans and help facilitate the release of software. You will be responsible for evaluating software functions and designing test protocols to ensure that products work as intended. You will also be responsible for completing all testing procedures, suggesting performance changes, and preparing performance reports if required. You will also be asked to perform light DevOps tasks such as repository and CI/CD management.
To ensure success as a software test engineer, you should have advanced knowledge of software design and engineering, a good eye for detail, and a natural gift for software troubleshooting. A skilled software test engineer should be able to identify even the smallest flaw in software designs and suggest simple yet effective fixes. The duties and requirements of this position include but are not limited to the following:
Primary Responsibilities
- Meet with operations and customers to identify and prioritize software requirements.
- Triage software issues and enhancement requests
- Meet with Lead Engineer to discuss software specifications and controls.
- Using the software as intended to analyze its functional properties.
- Setup local area networks for the facilitation of software testing
- Designing manual and automated test procedures to evaluate each software product.
- Running test programs to ensure that testing protocols evaluate the software correctly.
- Perform software performance testing.
- Finalizing and documenting testing procedures.
- Completing final tests and creating test reports if desired.
- Organize and release software versions.
- Maintain DevOps; cloud and on-premise; to insure efficient and reliable code repository/backups, defect/enhancement tracking, and software builds
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a similar field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven work experience as a software test engineer.
- Ability to design and write complex software testing procedures.
- In-depth knowledge of program testing software.
- Experience with development and execution of test cases and plans.
- Ability to collate data and compile test reports.
- Excellent software troubleshooting skills.
- Aptitude towards server maintenance
- Minimal scripting language experience
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good organization skills
- Good communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Azure DevOps administration
- Active Directory/DNS setup and configuration experience
- Experience writing software requirements specifications
- Test LAN setup and maintenance
- Database administration
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- US Citizen // Secret Clearance or ability to obtain is required
- Applicants must have a valid state driver’s license
- Ability to speak, read, and write English
- Be fluent in technical aircraft and electronic terminology
