This position is for a Software Engineer on the V-280 Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) within our Rotary and Mission System (RMS) Line of Business. You will be part of a team charged with creating a Rotary Wing Aircraft mission system that integrates modern and legacy systems and subsystems, such as mission computers, smart display technologies, weapons systems, various data links, as well as an aircraft Operational Flight Program, using modern Software Engineering principles, practices, and tools, working with an Agile mindset.
The Locale:
Owego, New York is located 200 miles northwest of New York City and 75 miles south of Syracuse, just north of the border with Pennsylvania. A part of the "Southern Tier" of New York State, Owego is a gateway to the Finger Lakes region. Binghamton University and Cornell University are nearby, and the Adirondack and Catskill Mountains, Niagara Falls, New York City, and Philadelphia are all within a few hours' drive. Rolling hillsides, historic homes, quaint country shops, riverside restaurants, fabulous festivals and a beautiful river make this region a great place to live.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 2 years of professional experience; or no experience required with a related Masters degree.
Versed in Software Engineering principles and practices, including requirements analysis, software design and development, verification, integration and test.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

- Demonstrated analytical/debug and SW/HW integration and test skills.
Versed in Software Engineering principles and practices, including requirements analysis, software design and development, verification, integration and test.
Desired Skills:
- Bachelors and/or Masters degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and/or Information Technology Systems Architecture.
- Familiarity with or experience developing in software open architectures or modular design.
- Understanding of RF signal processing concepts and associated algorithms
- Experience with Test Driven Development, Unit Testing, and Automated Test
- Embedded software development and deployment experience
- Knowledge of DevSecOps
- Experience working on development of an avionics platform within a complex mission system for rotary or fixed wing platforms. Possesses knowledge of aircraft Operational Flight Programs (OFPs) and has familiarity with weapons systems, sensor systems, glass cockpits and mission computing.
- Familiarity with smart display technologies, weapon systems, and cockpit video systems
- Familiarity with Datalink systems and/or mission processing
- Familiarty with MIL-STD-6011, MIL-STD-6016, MIL-STD-6017, MIL-STD-6018, and/or MIL-STD-6020,
- Experience with JIRA/Confluence.
- Familiar with model based engineering and
- Strong analytical and trouble shooting skills.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem solving skills.
