Job description
The Sheppard Pratt School - Reisterstown is a year round program that provides programming for students in grades 9 through 12 with high functioning autism, emotional disabilities, or specific learning disabilities. The high school is a co-educational program designed to maximize each student's ability to obtain his or her high school diploma in a nurturing and supportive environment. We offer a traditional high school program using the Baltimore County Public Schools Curriculum. The high school completer pathways include Spanish, auto maintenance/repair, culinary arts, computer technology, and horticulture/landscaping. In addition to work-based learning opportunities in these areas, we offer training and hands-on experience in an office support setting (e.g. copying, collating, laminating projects). These programs are designed to help students transition into the community and lead successful lives as they prepare to enter college or the work force.
As a Social Worker or Counselor, you will:
- Perform a full range of professional primary therapeutic services geared to students and their families in a Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) approved level V nonpublic school.
- Interview students, families, and involved agencies to develop the psychosocial evaluation.
- Lead the following processes for an assigned caseload: coordination of multidisciplinary treatment team; treatment plan development and implementation; monitoring and evaluating students' progress; communication with families, state agencies, and community resources.
- Develop and assist in the implementation of discharge and aftercare plans.
- Complete and maintain all required documentation in electronic medical record and on the educational IEP in accordance with program and Health System requirements.
Requires:
- LCSW-C, LCPC, LMSW, LGPC, or LCSW. Requires appropriate degree and Maryland license consistent with applicant's profession.
Preferred:
- 2+ years of experience working with youth in the special education population.
