As a chemicals supplier to almost all industries, BASF will establish a standalone subsidiary dedicated to its Mobile Emissions Catalysts, Precious Metals Trading, Recycling, and related Products and Services business. The new group is referred to as BASF Environmental Catalyst and Metal Solutions and is wholly owned by BASF. BASF Environmental Catalyst and Metal Solutions will operate globally in over 15 countries and comprise of approximately 20 production sites and over 4,000 employees.
We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist at our Huntsville, Alabama site at 9800 Kellner Road SW, Huntsville AL, 35824. This is the 4th largest of the Corporation's North American manufacturing locations and is the largest Mobile Emissions Clean Air Automotive Catalyst Site in the world. The Huntsville Site includes 2 main production facilities that produce Light and Heavy Duty Catalytic Converters for the automotive manufacturers across the US.Reporting to the Site Human Resources Manager the incumbent will serve as a trusted and collaborative advisor supporting Site Leaders onsite with day-to-day HR business activities including employee relations, policy implementation, organizational development, talent management, and performance management. You will partner with Site Operational and Functional Leadership and Employees to provide a comprehensive Human Resources service including counseling, coaching and guidance while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and BASF policies. The expectation will be that this individual will be located onsite 5 days a week Monday to Friday.
As a Human Resources Generalist, you will create chemistry by………. Provide guidance and council to Leaders and Employee to ensure compliance with Company rules, policies, and processes. Support Leaders and Staff with effective day to day guidance to enable the resolution of interpersonal or work-related problems and conflicts. Effectively support Site leaders to implement D&I imperatives and policies for an inclusive work culture, trust and equitable employee diversity across all levels and facilitate Departmental employee engagement topics. Collaborate with and support COEs and external 3rd party HR providers to ensure excellent delivery of HR services to the Site. In liaison with Legal support internal and external investigations relating to employee misconduct or non-compliance and guide Leaders to ensure consistent and policy appropriate policy disciplinary actions. Proactively support and drive actions and change management initiatives for continuous improvement support the Sites overall business objectives and achieve Site HR KPI’s. In collaboration with Site Operations Training actively support Departmental Leaders with employee development planning, career progression, Talent Review preparation and succession planning. Support the performance management process through effective communication, guidance, compliance, and consistency. Collaborate closely with Talent Acquisition, 3rd party providers, Site HR colleagues and Leaders to ensure effective and timely recruitment and selection processes. Support Leaders with organizational design, job design and outcomes- based job descriptions. Support, guide, and train Leaders to effectively leverage and utilize a range of digital people management HR systems including SAP and SuccessFactors. Support and conduct as required local industry remuneration and benefits surveys, prepare and present analysis of data and make recommendations to ensure market competitiveness. Support the Site HR Manager to ensure effective and compliant execution of key Site HR processes including annual remuneration reviews, performance incentive processes and employee career and progression. Support and assume ownership for HR projects and programs as required. In collaboration with the HR Manager and Site Leadership initiate, support and drive actions and programs to ensure the achievement of the Sites Human Resources objectives and KPI’s.
Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Your formula for success……
- Bachelor’s degree required in Human Resources, Business Administration, or other related discipline.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive professional Human Resources Business Partner/Generalist experience.
- Broad knowledge of HR functions, including employee relations, performance management, talent management, compensation, and HR policy development.
- Have a sound understanding of Local and Federal employment laws and policies such as FLSA, FLMA, EEO, Workers Compensation etc.
- Have a good understanding of ER and Data Management systems with strong analytical skills.
- Strong coaching, facilitation, conflict management and relationship building skills.
- Demonstrate ability to manage and administer a broad range of tasks including resolving complaints, and counseling managers and employees on the interpretation of policies, procedures, and other business issues.
- Demonstrate a high degree of ability to communicate (verbal and written), interact, and influence with all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrates strong internal and external customer service focus to build and maintain positive working relationships.
- This individual will be expected to be located onsite in Huntsville, AL 5 days a week.
