Monday through Friday - 6:30am to 3:00pm; occasional OT

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The Technician performs a wide variety of activities related to the order fulfillment process for copier and printer products including parts and sub-assemblies. These activities include:

  • Reading and interpreting directions/instruction from a PC based system and/or from written text or verbal communication
  • Removing parts from printers and accessories to fulfill emergency orders
  • Training Operators to remove parts from printers and copiers
  • Creating processes to remove parts from printers and copiers
  • Providing guidance, direction and instructions to other assigned personnel and, as required, co-workers, in lieu of direct supervision
  • Auditing the successful removal of parts, environmental components, and hazard materials

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT: Hand pallet trucks, tape machines, containers, dollies, as well as common hand tools, and portable power tools such as screwdriver, wrench, pliers, etc. In addition, utilization of scanning devices, computer terminal/keyboard/mouse will be utilized as job aids.

MATERIALS: Copier and Printer, assemblies, sub-assemblies, components (mechanical & electrical), consumable items, supplies, software, corrugated materials, and packaging and labeling materials.

SOURCE OF SUPERVISION: Engineer or his designee, Quality Specialist, or Lead

SKILLS:

  • Troubleshoot as required and correct / repair as necessary.
  • Read and interpret assembly/disassembly instructions.
  • Ability to work effectively with a mixed Union and Contract industrial work force including adherence to recognized separation of duties. Perform any other duties as required by management.

EXPERIENCE: Understanding of electro-mechanical systems including trouble shooting and repair. General familiarization with system, subsystem, and component level interactivity required. Must be familiar with standard ESD practices. Must be able to perform the essential functions documented for this position.

EDUCATION: Associates Degree in Electronics, military training in electronics or Trade School certificate in electronics, equivalent mechanical experience removing parts from assemblies such as cars, printers, and appliances preferred.
