FUNCTION: Under the direction of the equipment manager, the shop supervisor is responsible for directing the daily activity of the repair shop and ensuring the facility is maintained in a safe and healthful manner.

KEY ACTIVITIES:

• Oversee all shop employees, equipment, plant maintenance, and condition of facility.
• Monitor employee training and certification.
• Maintain shop recruiting, hiring, promotion, and corrective action.
• Oversee the completion of maintenance projects.
• Set and oversee the achievement of performance standard goals.
• Schedule equipment for repair.
• Responsible for weekly reports.
• Maintain a DOT medical card - CDL is preferred.
• Perform duties of a lead mechanic.
• Maintain insurable driving record.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• Exceptional interpersonal, problem solving, and technical skills
• Ability to review and analyze financial information
• Strategic thinking skills
• Knowledge of equipment, vehicle, and plant maintenance

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Two year diesel mechanic certificate preferred.
• Seven to ten years experience is ideal.
