The leader will work closely with the other internal stakeholders and teams to utilize Rheem's Customer-centric focus to address customer needs and expectations. You will bring your expertise to educate and deliver best-in- class experiences to Rheem's customers by utilizing industry expertise and skills to build a team and deliver a strategy that foster’s customer loyalty and satisfied dependency.

The Shipping Superintendent plans for the delivery, storage, collection, and distribution of finished goods while focusing on internal and external customer satisfaction and Metrics (KPIs) through supply chain management.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Shipping and Scheduling Department: Plans and manages activities that include shipping, intercompany ordering & receiving, finished goods inventory control, conversion of products, scheduling of production and all administrative task related to order to ship and necessary paperwork.
  • Responsible for:
o Providing leadership, training, support, direction and guidance to subordinate personnel to assist in developing their job skills. Prepare and conduct performance appraisals of employees
o Preparation, presentation and dissemination of weekly and monthly department reports.
o Directing department manning and work hours in order to support the production activities and shipment of product in a productive and cost-efficient manner.
o Adherence to all approved safety programs and policies in order to provide a safe workplace for employees.
o Department annual goals and objectives that support company goals and strategies.
o Safe and efficient equipment in order to perform department functions in a safe and hazard free environment.
o Overseeing the progressive disciplinary process in the area of counseling, oral and written warnings, to ensure a productive labor climate.
o Represent company in a professional manner to outside vendors and company representatives and perform related duties.
o Interviewing, hiring, and training employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILTIES

Manages and leads supervisors as well as department personnel throughout the assigned departments. Also, is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of these units and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

Qualifications

WHAT YOU NEED


  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
  • A minimum of 7 years manufacturing experience in a high volume steel fabricating facility.
  • Thorough knowledge of materials/logistics management with a heavy emphasis on Lean Manufacturing (i.e.; JIT, Kanban, push/pull systems, material throughput, department loading) MRP system management and inventory reduction.
  • Production/shop floor experience.
  • Must be team oriented with strong leadership skills, hands on style, and attention to detail with prior experience supervising teams and developing subordinates.
  • Demonstrated planning, organizing, communicating and monitoring skills with proven successes.
  • Computer literate with hands on experience in word processing, spreadsheets, graphics programs and MRP systems.
  • Ability to manage and motivate people. Solid interpersonal skills.

PREFERRED EDUCATIONAL and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Supply Chain or Industrial Engineering Degree
  • APICS Certification
  • Working knowledge of Oracle
  • Working knowledge of High Jump /Korber
  • Water heater product knowledge.
