Position Summary:
This position will include a variety of duties from running reports, assigning loads to the team on the floor, ensuring loads are loaded and systematically closed, manage a team of about 10 associates, and establish a good communication with the clerks to ensure we are routing/shipping all business unit orders within SLA timeline.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains shipping log of all outgoing shipments.
- Performs work under minimal supervision and comfortable with decision-making.
- Handles complex issues and problems, and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.
- Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter.
- Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to the team as needed.
- Load freight both manually and with equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks when needed.
- Verifies quantity and quality of shipment.
- Inspects machinery and assess the work area before operations to ensure safety. Takes proper precautionary measures when operating machinery.
- Manage team of shipping associates and ensure a good flow across department.
- Ships specifically by verifying the BOL.
- Validates freight count and has carrier sign off when loading is complete via XBOL application.
- Adapting to manual processes as well as fluctuation with workload volume.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Attention to detail and trouble-shoot/follow-up skills.
- Some basic math skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing.
- Basic PC knowledge, Excel is a plus.
- Ability to read and understand BOL and PO/ASN.
- Manhattan AS 400
- Any other ERP systems is not required, but a plus.
EDUCATON:
Requires a high school diploma and 4 to 6 years of experience.
Physical Demand:
Lifting or moving cartons up to 50 lbs. repeatedly.
Ability to stand and walk continuously throughout most of the day.
Work in cooler and heated conditions based on the time of year.
