1st shift is Mon - Fri 7:00am to 3:30pm

The Shipper and Receiver I works under close supervision of the Materials Supervisor and is responsible for inbound/outbound packaging needs, scheduling inbound/outbound trucks, receiving POs and generating shipping paperwork, and completing daily clerical work for the Materials Department.

Specific Responsibilities

• Unpack products on the receiving dock, remove package wrapping, and re‐pack products into bins and/or onto pallets to be moved into the storage areas.
• Perform random inspection of incoming product by reviewing the quantity and quality of material received, ensure BOLs ﴾bills of lading﴿ are correct, and note any discrepancies/damages.
• Receive POs ﴾purchase orders﴿ for inbound shipments. Generate BOLs and Packing Lists for outbound shipments in the inventory management system.
• Schedule pickups for outbound shipments and set appointments for inbound deliveries.
• File shipping and receiving paperwork and take shipping/receiving dock door calls.
• Track and request office supplies.
• Sort and stage pallets on the shipping dock by operating a Pallet Jack or by hand based on daily shipping schedule, truck weight limits, and requirements.
• Wrap ready‐to‐ship pallets by operating the shrink wrap machine to ensure the product on the pallet does not shift during transport before it is loaded on the truck for shipment.
• Prepare packages for shipping by taping or stapling boxes shut and affixing completed address label.
• Observe all safety guidelines and report safety concerns to management.
• Follow Six Sigma lean manufacturing standards to keep work area clean and safe from hazards.
• Perform other duties as required within the nature and level of work.

Job Qualification Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalentand experience working in a distribution or manufacturing environment is preferred. Experience updating data and navigating through warehouse management systems is preferred.

Must be able to operate a Pallet Jack. Ability to demonstrate basic math skills ﴾addition, subtraction, multiplication and division﴿. Ability to work in a fast‐paced team environment. Ability to work independently and with others. Ability to meet established deadlines. Ability to demonstrate strong attention to detail. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand basic English.

Physical Demand Requirements

Occasionally required to stand, walk or sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
