Superior Skilled Trades is currently in search of a Shipfitter in Palatka, FL!

• PAY: $20- $24 an hour - flexible based on experience.
• HOURS: Shifts will be 8-hour workdays, 5 days per week (40+ hours/ week, overtime available depending workload)
• SCHEDULE: Monday- Friday 7a.m - 3:30p.m
• START DATE: ASAP
• DURATION: 6+ Months
• PER DIEM: $110 PER WORK DAY

SHIPFITTER Responsibilities:

• Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints and layout specifications, and using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools.
• Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications, using squares, rulers, and measuring tapes.
• Tack-weld fitted parts together.
• Lay out and examine metal stock or work pieces to be processed to ensure that specifications are met.
• Align and fit parts according to specifications, using jacks, turnbuckles, wedges, drift pins, pry bars, and hammers.
• Any miscellaneous duties as may be required.

Required Skills:

• 3+ years fitter/ship building experience
• Ability to read blueprint
• Ability to set up and operate fabricating machines, such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, etc.
• Lift or move large parts using large cranes.
• Ability to work outdoors in any weather.

Additional Requirements for:

• Must be eligible to work in the United States
• Must have reliable transportation to the job site
• Must be able to pass Drug screen!
