SUMMARY OF ROLE:

As a liaison between the guests, the dining room, and the Server; the Server Assistant is responsible for ensuring that the dining room is perfect at all times. The Server Assistant's priority is assisting in executing the flow of the guest experience by helping with water service, refills, and removing used tableware between courses; as well as overall table maintenance throughout the guests’ dining experience. Additionally, The Server assistant is responsible for clearing, sanitizing, and resetting tables at the end of the guests’ dining experience. The Server Assistant works closely with the service team to help execute service and ensure guests’ needs are being met. This role takes directions from the service staff in addition to the management team and tasks are not limited to the tasks listed above. The Server Assistant requires strong attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a strong ability to multitask.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understanding and abiding to all Francine policies, procedures, and standards
  • Working alongside the Service team and to assist in completing tasks to execute an excellent experience for the guest
  • Clearing, sanitizing, and resetting tables, to the restaurant standards, after guests leave
  • Taking tableware to dish and placing silverware, plateware, glasses, etc. in the appropriate areas
  • Table tops are wiped and sanitized after guests departure
  • Checking floors, banquettes, chairs to ensure they are clean free of debris
  • Resetting and arranging tabletop to the correct standard after sanitized
  • Setting up the outside dining area if applicableIncluding leaf blowing the ground
  • Obtaining service area/server assignment at the beginning of each shift
  • Staying within the assigned service area or working closely with assigned server(s)
  • Promptly getting guest’s requested water preference as they are seated as table “chit” is obtained
  • Inspecting restrooms every 30 mins, clean and stock as needed (or at request of the host/manager)
  • Communicating guests requests to server immediately
  • Communicating with the server, hosts, and other server assistants to assure efficient seating, table utilization, and customer service
  • Prepping service areas: ice buckets are filled with ice and have a black linen, ice station is filled at server station; app plates, silverware, roll ups, water cups and wine glasses are stocked in all stations
  • Ensuring spills are cleaned up quickly with as little disturbance to the service as possible
  • Assisting servers with water and water refills, removing used tableware in between courses, providing tableware for next course (if applicable), overall table maintenance, and overall restaurant cleanliness and organization, especially during peak hours
  • Welcoming guests as they are arriving and thanking them as they are leaving
  • Exhibiting a sense of urgency and keeping up with the fast-paced restaurant environment
  • Acting in a proactive manner and communicating professionally to help avoid or solve any challenging situations
  • Follow daily and weekly side-work and additional cleaning schedules or tasks
  • Being available to to fill in as needed to ensure a smooth and efficient operation as directed by the management team or immediate supervisor

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prior restaurant experience preferred
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language of the workplace
  • Must have a positive attitude, hospitable demeanor, desire to serve guests, and enjoy working as part of a team
  • Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time ( up to 8 hours)
  • Must be able to safely list and easily maneuver various items frequently weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Maintain an clean and well-groomed appearance per Francince standard
  • Must follow safety and health code procedures closely
  • Must be able to work on holidays and/or weekends

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
