Senior Technical Manager –LNG and Gas Plants

HSB Solomon Associates LLC, a subsidiary of Hartford Steam Boiler and Munich Re, is seeking candidates for a Technical Manager – LNG and Gas Plants position to work in a dynamic, fast-paced business environment. BASIC FUNCTION
The LNG and Gas Plants Technical Manager provides technical input to Solomon’s Upstream benchmarking and consulting projects. The Technical Manager will provide LNG and Gas Plants operational industry expertise and be able to analyze technical operational data to provide business insights. The Technical Manager will have knowledge of current industry operational trends and be comfortable working with LNG and Gas Plant technical data and interfacing with clients at multiple levels.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• LNG and Gas Plants Benchmarking and Consulting
  • Responsible for stewarding the technical roadmap of Solomon’s industry leading LNG and Gas Plant benchmarking studies to enable long-term market growth and business objectives.
  • Owns and leads enhancement of the Worldwide LNG and Gas Plant Performance Analysis benchmarking studies, technical scope, benchmarking methodology & calculations, and study insight generation.
  • Execution of LNG and Gas Plant benchmarking studies. Interfacing with clients and internal stakeholders to provide client business value.
  • Execution of LNG and Gas Plant operational consulting projects.
• Industry Trends & Market Intelligence
  • Responsible for keeping abreast of LNG and Gas Plant industry trends and key client initiatives and applying that market intelligence to evolve the benchmarking and consulting offerings.
  • Conceptualizes, defines, and implements changes to study scope, metrics, and deliverables to address current and future industry challenges.
  • Increases client value by expanding and deepening the insights that clients receive from study participation
• Application of New Technologies & Analytical Methodologies
  • Responsible for applying new technologies and analytical methodologies to uncover new classes of insights from Solomon’s intellectual property and databases.
  • This mandate includes, but is not limited to, new insights pertaining to sustainability for the LNG and Gas Plant industries.
  • Responsible for defining infrastructure improvements that increase the efficiency of both client study participation and Solomon study execution, as well as reducing the effort required to obtain meaningful performance insights.
• Internal Collaboration
  • Proactively collaborate with the relevant Benchmarking Study Managers, Benchmarking Product Manager, Executive Vice President of Intellectual Property, and Technology Team in coordinating technical study improvement activities in alignment with company timelines and resource availability.

WE EXPECT

Education

• Required:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical or Petroleum Engineering
• Preferred:
  • Master’s degree and/or advanced professional degree preferred (e.g., MBA, PhD, etc.)

Work Experience

• Required:
  • 15+ years of career experience in an oil and gas operating company. and/or energy consulting company.
  • 15+ years of LNG or Gas Plant operational experience in technical support, production, maintenance or operational management roles.
  • Significant experience with LNG and/or Gas Plants operations, gained in site-based roles.
• Preferred:
  • Career tenure spanning multiple LNG and Gas Plant facilities.
  • Career tenure spanning assignments in multiple countries.

  • Technical Knowledge – Strong technical understanding of olefins manufacturing from a process, operational, and asset perspective.
  • Data Analysis – Strong data and performance analysis skills, with keen attention to detail
  • LNG / Gas Plant Processing – Hands-on experience with plant operations.
  • LNG /Gas Plants Functional Knowledge - Working knowledge of plant functions, including plant operation, maintenance and reliability, technical support, and planning and optimization.
  • Technical Communications – Ability to communicate complex technical concepts into simple business terms.

• Willing to travel approximately 15% of the time, both domestically and internationally
• This position would be based in Solomon’s Dallas, Houston, Bahrain or UK office. Remote US locations will also be considered.
