As a Senior Software Architect at Octo, you will be leading the development of enterprise architecture recommendations and implementation of a new high-priority, mission critical application for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) client. You will be leading the development as TSA transitions to a cloud first architecture and develop a deep understanding of program requirements and the current technology landscape in TSA. You must have a passion for learning and the ability to apply new concepts and technologies, as well as coming up with creative solutions to complex problems. Program Mission…

You will be working on a high-profile program supporting mission-critical application development for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). Your team on the program will have a direct say with your participation in the design and implementation to a mission-critical applications starting at the design phase to include the development, implementation, and maintenance of a technology roadmap.

Requirements...

• AWS Solution Architect Professional Certificate.
• Experience architecting & implementing web-based software solutions using serverless technologies.
• Architecture experience of migrating enterprise applications to major cloud platform.
• 5+ year hands-on experience on the leading cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google) developing/implementing IaaS, PaaS, or SaaS.
• 10+ years’ experience with modern programming languages, web frameworks, modern front-end web programming techniques and frameworks, relational databases, automated configuration management, continuous integration/deployment, and continuous monitoring solutions
• 10+ years software experience with multiple programming languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java, C#
• 7+ years full stack development experience with multiple frameworks/libraries including Node.js, React, Angular
• 7+ years experience with databases and queues such as PostgreSQL
• Expertise in providing software solutions in cloud environments to Federal clients.
• Responsible for driving multiple customer solution design projects in parallel
• Conduct business and technical discovery with customers
• Problem solve novel solutions, architectures and use cases to help customers meet their objectives
• Provide robust recommendations for engagements while also identifying critical dependencies & gaps
• Strong drive to solve customer problems and drive projects end to end from ideation to deployment
• Balance of business and technology acumen, including ability to articulate high- level technical solutions to business problems and to tie your solutions to program success criteria
• Capable of independently applying a wide set of engineering disciplines for planning, design, analysis, coding, testing, roll-out and support of information systems architectures.
• Analyze available technologies and makes recommendations of technologies to use and how best to use them.
• Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills, including ability to create clear observations, analysis and conclusions based on customer interviews and data
• Outstanding communications skills both oral and written, with the ability to present proposals to senior government officials in a clear and compelling way
• Team player who can collaborate with multiple stakeholders to arrive at the best solution

• Agile certification such as SAFe Agilist or Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
• Experience with Jira and Confluence

Years of Experience: 12+ years of software development and architecture

Education: Bachelors in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
