Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. MBA or CPA preferred.

License/Certifications: N/A

Experience: Minimum of three years' experience in hospital reimbursement experience. Multiprovider type experience preferred. Healthcare system experience preferred. Experience with one or more of the following: GME, DSH, SCH and CAH reimbursement also preferred.

Ability to prioritize multiple assignments from multiple internal and external sources.

Analytical skills to collect pertinent information necessary to evaluate complex problems, formulate sound solutions and implement those solutions.

Working knowledge of personal computers as well as information systems capabilities, procedures and practices with advanced Excel skills.

Knowledge of accounting and reimbursement principles normally acquired through completion of a degree program in Accounting, Finance and through past hospital work experience.

Ability to work under minimal supervision with clearly defined objectives.

Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with both internal and external personnel in multiple disciplines, on a variety of complex issues.
Position Summary
The overall purpose and function of the position is to, with minimum supervision, manage and complete specific assigned responsibilities as it relates to cost reporting, month-end contractuals and third party receivables and additional ad hoc analysis for MaineHealth members as assigned by the Manager. The position is responsible for incorporating physician time studies, graduate medical education data and other cost reporting data into the final cost report filing. Furthermore, the position will complete or assist in the completion and assure the accuracy of month-end accounts receivable analysis and yearly contractual allowance budgeting. Along with the Director and Managerthis position contributes to the accurate yearly filing of Medicare and Medicaid cost reports as well as the divisional, monthly and yearly reporting of net patient service revenues.
