Schneider Electric USA, Inc. seeks a Senior Project Manager in Austin, TX.
Job Description: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, and customers in overseeing and coordinating project priorities, scope, resource requirements, and timing of deliverables. Review Electrical drawings, Data sheets and manufacturer equipment submittal to identify equipment attributes for power monitoring systems. Review & Approve hardware engineering deliverables to verify technical soundness and adherence to scope requirements. Lead the selection and procurement of hardware material based on customer specifications & engineering requirements. Understand power monitoring system architecture & Lead development of network diagrams, graphical screens & software for electrical power monitoring systems. Act as the customer relationship manager and technical subject matter expert with ability to solve technical issues for customer. Clear understanding of SCADA and EPMS systems. Clear understanding of hardware panel design parameters like voltage/current calculations. Daily coordination with customer for onsite schedule visits & TT/MCM/MOP creation. Coordinate with subcontractor on electrical installation scope & oversee completion of work with technical guidance. Identify process improvements and work with project managers to standardize internal processes like change order management, schedule tracking and resource management as well as external processes around customer interactions & delivery management. Work with product team in identifying feature additions based on customer feedback and work with product engineers in defining timeline for implementation. Work on tracking and resolving risk escalations identified by project managers and provide clear communication to the program team. Assist management with evaluation and development of a project plan and participate in the planning and formulation of design alternatives and solutions. Monitor project deliverables and progress through continuous communication with project members and key stakeholders. Remain aware of any potential problems and work to mitigate any risks. Prepare reports on project progress and problems. Ensure projects are completed per corporate and customer plan. Telecommuting permitted. Travel required, 25% - Attending onsite for project meetings.
Qualifications:
Requirements: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field and 3 years of work experience in project management. Also must have work experience with: (1) Utilizing Smartsheet to manage project schedules, dependencies, resource plans and budget, as well as utilizing Visio to review diagrams to ensure they are legible and meet the requirements of the project; (2) Utilizing Microsoft Project to manage the completion of lines within a project and invoicing of lines. Utilizing Microsoft Excel to understand the as sold margin and the as delivered margin, associated costs as well as the estimation of costs for each tasks. Skills in SmartSheet is especially useful as well to manage the financials and status of projects through spreadsheets and dashboards; (3) Matrix managing teams of engineers, sub contractors, electrical contractors and general contractors to ensure all tasks and deliverables required for project delivery are met on time and completely; (4) Negotiating and manage contractual arrangements through the review of scope creep and identification of needed change orders. Quoting additional work needed, ensure the quote is within our profit margin parameters and negotiate with the customer to obtain agreement to pay for said change order; (5) Maintain information on project status, risks, issues, financials and change orders. Recording all information to maintain compliance with CPP guidelines. Utilize MS Office products (Project, Excel, and Word) to communicate information to all stakeholders; (6) Utilizing PMI based project management processes to manage projects effectively within scope, schedule, and budget; (7) Utilizing ERP to manage the resource plan, availability of resources across multiple projects and work with resource management team to identify needed tasks for projects clearly and the skillset available to accomplish such tasks; and (8) Experience in the Data Center Industry.
