The Senior Director, Account Management will have oversight of retaining and developing client relationships and acquiring new clients in the K12 education market. They will have dual responsibility for managing key customer accounts with our top school districts and managing the small, but mighty Sales team, including workflow and processes.

What You’ll Do:*

Oversee key client relationships with school districts in North Carolina and Virginia, including building and maintaining relationships with administrators, school principals, and other education leaders.

  • Manage sales team and sales strategy, with responsibility for leadership of the department, developing skills on the team and holding team members accountable.
  • Liaise with clients, manage client program budgets and managing partner program satisfaction across all products and services.
  • Retain and grow sales partnerships with key accounts by continuously monitoring service levels, managing client satisfaction and upselling additional products and services.
  • Serve as an internal champion for customers.
  • Proactively monitor and manage competitive threats.
  • Work cross functionally to research, collect and analyze data on products, services and satisfaction for customer acquisition and retention purposes.
  • Share feedback from clients and prospective customers with product development and implementation teams.
  • Coordinate interactions for the client with other groups within the company including Marketing, Finance, Legal, Teacher Experience and Education Programs.
  • As part of on-going client relationships, manage partner program master service agreements (MSAs), contracts and the renewal process in line with financial and company goals for expansion and profitability.
  • Evaluate and escalate possible risks affecting the business relationship.
  • Participate in proposal and budget development, sales/proposal presentations and demos.
  • Evaluate feasibility of potential programs and impact on company operations and goals.
  • Establish and acquire new key accounts in collaboration with the sales team.
  • Work cross-functionally with marketing and product teams to develop sales strategies for new and existing products.
  • Educate and guide prospects through the buying process.
  • Manage a pipeline of qualified leads through the buying process until deals are closed.
  • Track and document all work in SalesForce.
  • Perform other duties as required to promote and support the clients and the sales team.

Experience You Bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Education Administration, or a related field
  • 8+ years of sales and marketing experience selling to K-12 school districts
  • Former K-12 classroom experience in public school districts a plus
  • Ability to effectively communicate, plan and collaborate with a wide variety of constituents, including educators, community stakeholders and school administrators
  • Strong customer service focus with ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, managers, clients and senior executives
  • Ability to communicate (write, speak and present) effectively, persuasively and in an informed and credible manner
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate cross-functionally
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong planning, organization, execution and evaluation, problem solving, influencing and building credibility at all levels and skills
  • Knowledge of district level organizational structures, policies and practices related to sales and contracts.
  • Extensive experience in SalesForce or another CRM system for tracking, monitoring and reporting.
