Odyssey Systems has an exciting opportunity for a
Senior Avionics Integration Engineer providing support to the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center/PEO Digital Directorate (AFLCMC/HB). The Air Force Program Execution Office for PEO Digital (AFPEO/HB) has the collective Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) mission responsibility to manage and execute the modernization, development, testing, production, fielding, and sustainment of the PEO Digital portfolio, which includes over 130 programs for the United States Air Force (USAF) and foreign allies. AFLCMC/PEO Digital Directorate is headquartered at Hanscom Air Force Base, MA with geographically separated operating units CONUS and OCONUS.
This is a full time position located at Langley AFB.
Responsibilities:
Duties includ
e, but not limited to:
Provide technical input on aircraft aerodynamic design and performance as a result of
required modifications and integration of mission equipment- Evaluate the EMD contractor's design and assess that missionized aircraft will meet
aircraft-related Systems Requirements Document (SRD) requirements - Evaluate and assess the EMD contractor's design and deliverables meet aircraft-related Statement of Work (SOW) requirements
- Develop and implement Aircraft Integrity programs and a corrosion prevention and control program
- Manage implementation and completion of aerial refueling certification and clearance processes
- Manage size, power, cooling, and weight and balance designs
- Support test planning and execution and review of associated documents
- Coordinate with other Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) including radar, communications, BMC2, logistics, integration and test to ensure aircraft system/subsystems are adequate to meet requirements
- Support the development and implementation of a program office OSS&E process
- Develop and implement program office operating instructions, as required
- Develop and implement a program sustainment strategy
- Manage diminishing manufacturing source issues
- Ensure contractor structural dynamic stability design meets requirements and dynamic environment is adequately characterized
- Evaluate contractor material selection processes and ensure they use mature and repeatable processes during the manufacturing / production of aircraft structural components
- Evaluate design of the environmental control system and airworthiness of design and operation of the environmental control system
- Evaluate design of the aerial refueling system and airworthiness of design and operation of the aerial refueling system
- Evaluate design of the electric power and wiring system and airworthiness of design and operation of the electric power and wiring system
- Evaluate technical application of MECSIP/ASIP onto weapon systems
- Required skills may include but are not limited to:
- Understanding of aircraft structures, flight control surfaces/systems, mechanical and avionics subsystems to evaluate an aircraft integration approach and ensure the viability of the weapon system design and ability to meet airworthiness and performance requirements
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
Clearance
: Must have and be able to maintain an active Secret security clearance
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five of which must be in the DoD. OR, Master’s or Doctorate Degree in a related field and ten years of experience in the respective technical / professional discipline being performed, five years of which must be in the DoD.
